[00:00:33] CHELSEY DONN: Hello! Reviews!

[00:00:35] TREY GERRALD: Hello and welcome back to Review That Review. We are the podcast that is dedicated to reviewing. That is Chelsey Donn.

[00:00:51] CHELSEY DONN: And that is Trey Gerrald.

[00:00:53] TREY GERRALD: And together we are

[00:00:55] VOICEOVER: The Review Queens

[00:00:59] TREY GERRALD: Chelsey. Do you know what we're going to celebrate today?

[00:01:04] VOICEOVER: Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Upon Kwanzaa too, Spread some joy, laughs and cheers, Happy Holidays to you, Light candles, hang your tinsel and mistletoe, Get your bowl of corn,

[00:01:27] TREY GERRALD: What?

[00:01:27] VOICEOVER: Find a friend, spin a dreidel, And ring your bells through the Storm, Happy Holidays to you!,

[00:01:42] CHELSEY DONN: that's another great song, Trey, to add to the karaoke repertoire,

[00:01:48] TREY GERRALD: Doesn't he have a great voice?

[00:01:49] CHELSEY DONN: wow,

[00:01:50] TREY GERRALD: you, YouTube, found another great jingle.

[00:01:53] CHELSEY DONN: found another gem out there, who would have known this was just sitting in the wings waiting for us? I

[00:01:59] TREY GERRALD: the way that the calendar fell this year, we didn't really exactly do, like, the non denominational episode, but because it's December 20th, this is sort of the Christmas episode, but we hold space for everyone. I thought that song was appropriate!

[00:02:12] CHELSEY DONN: love it. It's the new happy birthday a little late.

[00:02:16] TREY GERRALD: way, it's been stuck in my head. Uh huh. Well, with this ball of energy, Chelsey, I'm very curious. Would you like to?

[00:02:24] VOICEOVER: Lager Complaint,

[00:02:25] CHELSEY DONN: I would like to lodge a complaint, but before I lodge my complaint, I just want to quickly let the listeners know what I'm looking at over here. Trey is wearing like a fabulous sequined, like, is it a dress? Is it a vest? Ooh. Oh, it's a, it's a jumper. Oh my. Ooh, it's a onesie jumper. It is a, like, just frickin fabulous onesie jumper, and I can't, is it silver, but the lights are making it look pink and

[00:02:53] TREY GERRALD: It's pink, well so, the sequin, sequin dots are silver on one side, red on the other, and then there is also pink in it, and gold in it, so it's all of the colors.

[00:03:05] CHELSEY DONN: okay, but also Trey is just picking up all of the colors from his lights, he's like a disco ball, it is fabulous, Trey, my goodness, what a treat for any listener that is watching this video on YouTube or on Patreon, check out this beautiful co host of mine, I'm beklempt,

[00:03:24] TREY GERRALD: It's the holidays, you gotta be

[00:03:26] CHELSEY DONN: the holidays you showed up.

I didn't, I didn't get dressed up for the occasion. I

[00:03:29] TREY GERRALD: your days be merry and bright and your yuletide gay.

[00:03:33] CHELSEY DONN: that's right. That's right. And your complaints lodged. Yes. So, I want to just talk about the whole trudgery, if you will, of gift purchasing around the holidays. Figuring out your list, who's naughty, who's nice, now who needs to receive a gift, who doesn't. For me, like, I really like to give people gifts that I know that they're gonna actually use, or if they're not gonna actually use it, I like to give something that's meaningful.

And it can be so hard. Sometimes it, for me, it just clicks right away. Like, Oh, I know what I'm getting for that person. And then sometimes you really have to stretch and it's painful. And then not to mention, like, if you can't buy it, if you buy it online, then it's, am I getting what I think I'm getting?

And then if I get in person, then I have to deal with all the, Craziness of the mall on the holiday, which is honestly just a nightmare. Like, yes, there's a moment of it when the Christmas music is playing or whatever that's like kind of nice, like I'm shopping and it's the holidays, but Most of it is just stressful and I'm over it.

And I also like giving people gifts guys. This is a conundrum I just wanted to address this as a general conceit and see to other people who really enjoy giving gifts to people which I do. Also sort of dread having to figure out all the logistics of the budgeting and Who am I getting what for? I'm exhausted.

And then it just feels like it happens, you know, then the birthdays, it's just, I'm always buying gifts, you guys.

[00:05:07] TREY GERRALD: Yeah, I can agree with that. I feel like as I've gotten older, like it used to be so fun, like especially in school because everyone was coming together and then you would like do a gift exchange. But like, as now that I'm older, it's like. I have to fly to see my family for the holidays. So then it's like, well, do I buy it ahead of time and wrap it?

But then I have to like fly with it and then I have to like carry it and schlep it, or do I like wait until I'm there? And then that always feels last minute to me. Like it's not as, and then also like,

[00:05:34] CHELSEY DONN: stuff in advance. I always will be like, I'm sending something, don't open it.

[00:05:38] TREY GERRALD: Oh, that's smart.

[00:05:39] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah, and with my sister, sometimes I'm like, can you, can you wrap the gifts for the kids? I'll send them

[00:05:44] TREY GERRALD: yeah, I've done that

[00:05:45] CHELSEY DONN: and she will. Yeah,

[00:05:47] TREY GERRALD: no, I, I hear that. Cause it is a whole rigmarole around gifts, gift

[00:05:51] CHELSEY DONN: really is.

[00:05:53] TREY GERRALD: all of it, doing

[00:05:54] CHELSEY DONN: And like, making sure you're not spending an entire year's budget on the gifts as well, but you're still giving things that are meaningful,

[00:06:00] TREY GERRALD: that too.

[00:06:02] CHELSEY DONN: yeah. I always hate the kids on a, um, shopping spree at the dollar store.

[00:06:07] TREY GERRALD: Oh, that's fun.

[00:06:08] CHELSEY DONN: I'm like, yeah, and I'll do like a craft, I'll go in with the intention, I'm like, we're gonna bake today, or we're gonna make a craft, or we're gonna whatever, so we're going to the dollar store to buy that and some snacks to like do along with the activity, but I'm always like, you know, knock yourself out, get whatever you want to, kid, and they're like, Auntie, are you a movie star?

And I'm like, in Dollar Tree?

[00:06:28] TREY GERRALD: I am a Dollar

[00:06:30] CHELSEY DONN: I am.

[00:06:30] TREY GERRALD: Tree celebrity.

[00:06:32] CHELSEY DONN: I am a Dollar Tree celebrity and you just you get whatever you want.

[00:06:35] TREY GERRALD: I might steal that as my

[00:06:37] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah, honestly, they love it. Like it's great. I

[00:06:40] TREY GERRALD: I mean, I would love that. When I go to LA, you want to take me to the Dollar

[00:06:44] CHELSEY DONN: Oh my god, I will take you to the dollar store and you can get whatever you want, Trey. Yeah, but anyway, that's my complaint. Thank you for letting me get it off my chest. I feel better now and I want to hear some other people's complaints. That's what I need. That's what would really feed me right now.

[00:07:01] TREY GERRALD: well let's do it, let's jump into this very unique

[00:07:04] CHELSEY DONN: Ooh, can't wait. Get

[00:07:08] VOICEOVER: Review That Review,

[00:07:12] CHELSEY DONN: As you know, we are your trusty Review Queens. We bring in reviews from the internet that we feel need to be inspected.

[00:07:19] TREY GERRALD: We read you the review, break it down, and rate the impact of that review on a scale from 0 to 5 crowns. It's a very regal process that we like to call.

[00:07:28] VOICEOVER: Assess That Kvetch, It's

[00:07:33] CHELSEY DONN: What have you brought in for us?

[00:07:35] TREY GERRALD: Okay, once again, like last week's after show, I sourced this review. So, Long ago, Chelsey.

[00:07:43] CHELSEY DONN: How long ago, Trey?

[00:07:45] TREY GERRALD: So long ago that before today's episode, I had to go back to make sure it still exists on Amazon. And in the meantime, when I first sourced it, 105 people had found it helpful. And as of today, 138 people have found it helpful.

So it's still, still

[00:08:01] CHELSEY DONN: gotten a bump. It's still, it's still popular. Okay.

[00:08:03] TREY GERRALD: So I'm going to share this review with you, okay? We're going to talk through it, and they have also included a video.

[00:08:11] CHELSEY DONN: Ooh, okay.

[00:08:12] TREY GERRALD: I actually think I'm going to show you the video first,

[00:08:16] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, okay. Ooh!

[00:08:24] TREY GERRALD: review for a product called Little Prompter.

The original, compact, personal teleprompter for video production. No studio required. Perfect for DSLRs, webcams, and built in laptop cameras. Use with iOS or Android.

[00:08:54] VOICEOVER: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,

[00:08:54] CHELSEY DONN: Wow.

[00:08:56] TREY GERRALD: So what do you think this product is based on all that?

[00:08:59] CHELSEY DONN: Okay, so I'm a little bit confused because at first when you said prompter I was thinking like a teleprompter so I was thinking more like karaoke you could have like the karaoke lyrics come across this teleprompter or if you're a tiktoker and you have like something you want to talk about you could have your script come through this teleprompter but that's not what it is.

Is

[00:09:19] TREY GERRALD: So, yeah, well, so it is a teleprompter that you can use on your iPhone, you can use it on your laptop. So, like, you know, anyone that's not in, like, creative endeavors, like teleprompters, like newscasters, read their scripts directly from a

[00:09:32] CHELSEY DONN: We're even on SNL, they have child prompters,

[00:09:34] TREY GERRALD: they have cue cards,

[00:09:36] CHELSEY DONN: oh, oh, right, you're right, you're right, you're right,

[00:09:39] TREY GERRALD: but yeah, the idea

[00:09:40] CHELSEY DONN: it's the same idea. It's this, it's a, it's a digital cue card that is moving along with the way that you're speaking. Or like people when they give speeches, Politicians will have a teleprompter in case they lose their way.

I imagine, yeah, maybe even Ted, Ted Talks or

[00:09:58] TREY GERRALD: Yes, exactly. So this is like a smaller version that like you and I could buy and use.

[00:10:05] CHELSEY DONN: Okay. That's kind of cool.

[00:10:07] TREY GERRALD: is so cool, right?

[00:10:08] CHELSEY DONN: like that. Yeah.

[00:10:09] TREY GERRALD: All right. So I'm going to send you to the link.

[00:10:12] CHELSEY DONN: Okay.

[00:10:12] TREY GERRALD: And do you see Edward's review? It should be the first under from the United

[00:10:16] CHELSEY DONN: Yes. I see it. There's a video.

[00:10:18] TREY GERRALD: don't read any of his review.

[00:10:19] CHELSEY DONN: I'm not reading.

[00:10:20] VOICEOVER: Hi, it's Ed Taylor, Santa Ed, or That Santa Guy, you might know me that

[00:10:25] CHELSEY DONN: God, it's Santa.

[00:10:26] VOICEOVER: I am so excited. I just got the little prompter a few days and

[00:10:30] CHELSEY DONN: really looks like Santa.

[00:10:32] TREY GERRALD: does.

[00:10:33] VOICEOVER: it has exceeded my expectations. I have to tell you. In fact, in this little video in just a minute, I will show you some video taken.

[00:10:42] CHELSEY DONN: He's like in Santa's workshop.

[00:10:43] TREY GERRALD: He is.

[00:10:45] VOICEOVER: prompter device. I just shot three videos a few minutes ago. Um, in fact, one's rendering on my computer right now.

[00:10:52] CHELSEY DONN: Santa,

[00:10:52] VOICEOVER: I, what I'll

[00:10:53] TREY GERRALD: He is better at tech than we are.

[00:10:54] VOICEOVER: will, I will add some little snippets so you can actually see what it looks like. Now, the little prompter, the way it works, what it is, it's a teleprompter for your laptop, um, Or for a webcam, so the way, out of the box, I got it open the box, really excited about it, just set it right on my laptop, and I was able to use it, I mean literally within minutes, I mean just instantly, and And it was great.

I mean, I loved it. I everything about it, but I decided, you know, I don't really want it hanging on my laptop. And because I make videos all the time, I thought, okay, I just want a desktop tripod. And I really like my my other external webcam, my Logitech. And so I thought, okay, I'm just gonna I'm gonna mount that all on the tripod.

So that it's just sitting here on my desk, you know, all the

[00:11:44] CHELSEY DONN: can't believe I'm looking at Santa.

[00:11:47] VOICEOVER: in between tasks. It's awesome. I mean, so what I'm gonna do is I'm going to, I'm going to edit the video here. I'm going to, I'm going to take a break and I'm going to come back with the, uh, with this, my phone camera off of the monopod and, um,

[00:12:00] CHELSEY DONN: really knows a lot about tech.

[00:12:01] VOICEOVER: take some other videos, so you can actually see

[00:12:04] TREY GERRALD: He doesn't have a wedding ring on

[00:12:05] VOICEOVER: with the use of the, uh, the little prompter as, as the teleprompter, I think you're going to love it.

So, uh, I'll be back in with you in just a second. Okay. So, so there's my laptop. And if I, if I wanted to, I could just put the, uh, the little prompter right here that you can see. I think my, uh, there's my webcam that's built into the, uh, To the laptop and I can just set the little prompter right over the top of that if I wanted to and do exactly what I'm doing now, but right now I have it set up right beside my computer on this tripod

[00:12:40] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, and a tripod.

[00:12:42] VOICEOVER: having it set up adjacent to my computer, I can use the computer Uh, fine, you know, and, and don't have the, to remove the, uh, the, uh, the little prompter all the time.

So here, here's a little prompter, and, and if you had a telephone in there, you can kind of see how, you, see how that's reflecting up on that glass. And, and this, this doesn't do it justice at all, but when you have your app going, your teleprompter app going. You can see the words on there. Like you're seeing that little green tea and the reflection perfectly.

I mean, just, just absolutely perfectly. In fact,

[00:13:13] CHELSEY DONN: oh, interesting. So it's reflection.

[00:13:16] TREY GERRALD: Yes.

[00:13:16] VOICEOVER: but there it is. It's just absolutely, uh, great. I, and I'll add some of the videos right now so you can see what the video quality is. And look at my eye movement. Instead of me, you know, having to look from side to side at post it notes that are next to a webcam, um, you know, just check it out. I think you're going to be impressed.

I am incredibly impressed. Hi, today is Saturday, November

[00:13:43] CHELSEY DONN: Nice transition, Santa.

[00:13:45] VOICEOVER: 12 days until Thanksgiving and 44 days until Christmas. So, if you remember yesterday's episode, we talked a little bit about, uh, Rethinking Thanksgiving? I asked you that question. Is it time to rethink Thanksgiving altogether? Interesting question, right?

Mix it up a little bit.

[00:14:05] CHELSEY DONN: I'm reading this. I'm reading this!

[00:14:07] VOICEOVER: things together and there's a huge difference between doing things together and Watching something together. Okay, so

[00:14:15] CHELSEY DONN: my God, that's

[00:14:16] VOICEOVER: my family is a family of talkers. Imagine that, probably no surprise. And the conversations are always interesting.

[00:14:25] CHELSEY DONN: Oh my God, a transition

[00:14:26] VOICEOVER: going to walk you right through the process here.

So, here's the video, or the teleprompter app I have. I'm just going to touch that. It opens up to my scripts. These are scripts that I write using Google Docs, and then I, uh, then I import it into here. Just copy and paste it in. There's what it looks like when it comes up, and then I,

[00:14:47] TREY GERRALD: And now

[00:14:47] VOICEOVER: take this and put it in, uh, in, in the horizontal mode, set it up here, and then there you can see

[00:14:54] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, wow.

[00:14:55] VOICEOVER: when I'm looking at that, that's exactly what I see. And there you go. I mean, then I can just push this start button. Today is Sunday, November 11th, 2018. 11 days until Thanksgiving and 43 days until Christmas. And all the while, See, the camera behind is picking it all up, in yesterday's episode we talked about doing things together, so that's exactly what it looks

[00:15:23] CHELSEY DONN: Santa got a text.

[00:15:24] VOICEOVER: pretty awesome, right? So, uh, I'm

[00:15:27] TREY GERRALD: texted them, do you think?

[00:15:29] VOICEOVER: of

[00:15:29] CHELSEY DONN: Whoa, Mrs. Claus.

[00:15:31] VOICEOVER: Okay, well, one final conclusion. This, I have used, uh, um, a lot of, a lot of devices here to do this. Used my phone, used my iPad, used my webcam, but you saw it.

[00:15:42] CHELSEY DONN: Wow, Santa.

[00:15:43] VOICEOVER: um, and you saw the way that I have it hooked up on the tripod. But you certainly don't have to do that, it works just fine, um, it'll hook right over the back of your laptop, you can also use, uh, an SLR, so if you have a single lens reflex, it'll hook right onto your tripod, and you can set it up that way, uh, again, all you really need is the phone, Um, and the teleprompter app to make it all work, so you have to have that.

But the teleprompter app and the phone, there's a couple apps, so I'll put the links in here, um, in just a second, so you'll have access to the things that you might need, or the things that I used anyway.

[00:16:22] CHELSEY DONN: I wish he told us he's reading this in

[00:16:24] VOICEOVER: I, I hope that you can see that. By the way, I'm, I'm not a, a sales rep or anything of, of theirs, but I just think that all of us in the Santa community and so many of us who use video

[00:16:35] CHELSEY DONN: Santa community.

[00:16:36] VOICEOVER: um, circumstances, I also have a, uh, little enterprise called the Encore Entrepreneur Learning Center.

And I make videos for that all the time. And I can just see that I will use this Um, constantly, I'm certain I'll use it multiple times a day, all year round, and a lot during the Christmas season, for the videos that I do, for families, anyway, um, so all the best, if you have any, uh, questions, I mean these things are available on Amazon, again, I'll have all the links on here so you can check that out, um, feel free to pop me an email if you have any questions, uh, at all, Um, you know, I'm not the technical expert on the device, but I've used it for a few days now and, uh, and

[00:17:15] CHELSEY DONN: Seem like an expert.

[00:17:16] VOICEOVER: to, uh, to, to make a, you know, you will know enough as soon as you unbox it to make it work, but, uh, anyway, uh, signing off again, this is Ed Taylor, Santa Ed, or That Santa Guy, um, wishing you all the best.

Stay frosty, my friends.

[00:17:32] CHELSEY DONN: Oh!

[00:17:33] TREY GERRALD: What do you think of his ho ho ho?

[00:17:35] CHELSEY DONN: god. Dude, I feel like if there was ever a real Santa, it would be that guy. He looks so much like Santa, it's making me believe in Santa.

[00:17:46] TREY GERRALD: Doesn't he seem so jolly? Like, that's how I would describe Jo Holly,

[00:17:50] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah, I mean, I just, every element of Santa that there is, just everything, the epitome of what I would think of if Santa were to personify is Santa Ed.

[00:18:01] TREY GERRALD: Santa

[00:18:02] CHELSEY DONN: I get, do you think that Santa Ed has Like a patreon. I'm not a patreon. It has like a Cameo Totally, right?

[00:18:11] TREY GERRALD: Well,

[00:18:11] CHELSEY DONN: That's probably what they're doing all their videos

[00:18:13] TREY GERRALD: So, yes, okay, so that was a very long video, and listeners, it was much longer than the version you're hearing, A, for copyright reasons, and B, just because Santa Ed literally takes us through the entire process, but okay, so that is the attached video to this review from

[00:18:30] CHELSEY DONN: that was so lengthy. Holy

[00:18:32] TREY GERRALD: Holy Cows, nine minutes long.

Alright, so, this is a five star Amazon review by Edward for The Little Prompter. The subject is From 11 years as an amateur to an all caps REAL PRO in 5 minutes,

[00:18:50] CHELSEY DONN: Wow

[00:18:51] TREY GERRALD: Verified Purchase, Webcam Teleprompter Little Prompter, I've been creating, quote, videos from Santa, end quote, since 2007, and I've tried everything I could think of to make them better and to produce them faster.

I started with a camcorder and my notes on nearby whiteboards and evolved to a webcam and post it notes near the lens. The videos always fell a bit short. Regardless of how hard I tried to memorize the script, or how close to the camera I posted my notes, I would always lose that all important eye contact with the lens, dot, dot, dot. The little prompter. In less than 5 minutes, the little prompter took me from 11 years as an amateur to a real professional. Now, with my script scrolling right in front of the camera lens, the videos are simply amazing, dot dot dot, Santa is actually talking directly to you. I love it, dot dot dot, and so do the children who watch the videos.

Quote, Santa, end quote, Ed Taylor, That Santa Guy.

[00:20:20] CHELSEY DONN: Oh my God, that Santa guy, Ed Taylor, Santa. I agree. When I first started watching the first video that Santa posted, I mean, you could see by my reaction, my gleeful reaction, that my mouth was ajar. I was just, I really did feel like. I was connecting with Santa.

[00:20:39] TREY GERRALD: Well, you said multiple times, I'm talking to Santa. It's Santa. It's Santa. Santa's talking to me.

[00:20:46] CHELSEY DONN: I know, that's really what it felt like. There was just this genuine feeling of connection with Santa. What a wonderful five star review, if not overindulgent a little bit, but still lovely nonetheless.

[00:21:00] TREY GERRALD: So, I did just for some backstory here.

[00:21:03] CHELSEY DONN: Okay,

[00:21:04] TREY GERRALD: So, Santa, Ed Taylor, actually has a website. Chelsey, he's located in Beverly Hills,

[00:21:12] CHELSEY DONN: my god,

[00:21:13] TREY GERRALD: you've probably seen him at Trader Joe's,

[00:21:15] CHELSEY DONN: familiar.

[00:21:16] TREY GERRALD: virtual visits, there's appearances, he has been in tons of television shows and

[00:21:22] CHELSEY DONN: He must, he looks so good.

[00:21:24] TREY GERRALD: there's a section under the about that is Santa Claus actor Hollywood, it says I began portraying Santa years before I became a Santa Claus actor in Hollywood.

[00:21:35] CHELSEY DONN: believe

[00:21:36] TREY GERRALD: I watched Christmas movies like Elf and never dreamed that a few years later, I would be in Hollywood, working with Ed Asner and Will Ferrell, not to mention Mark Wahlberg. Being an actor, let alone a Santa Claus actor, never crossed my mind. And then he has a pull quote from a director, and it's basically his reel.

He was on Jimmy Kimmel Live, he's And in many commercials he has, he has a whole reel here. So Santa Ed is a actor and then you can get personalized videos, virtual visits, live video chats on Zoom, and then you can get personalized video messages from Santa that are posted to private YouTube links. So

[00:22:21] CHELSEY DONN: This is fascinating. I do feel like Ed Taylor sees himself as a celebrity and I can't say that I disagree.

[00:22:27] TREY GERRALD: I mean, I buy this as Santa. He seems so

[00:22:31] CHELSEY DONN: so Santa like.

[00:22:32] TREY GERRALD: I agree. And that only speaks to like the value, unique information. First of all, if Santa Claus himself is endorsing your product. I mean, you can't pay for that press.

[00:22:44] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, no. Also, right?

[00:22:47] TREY GERRALD: He's not going to lie to

[00:22:48] CHELSEY DONN: was Santa in Santa's workshop in the video?

[00:22:52] TREY GERRALD: It did look that rocking horse in the

[00:22:54] CHELSEY DONN: Yes. Could Santa be Santa? I just think this was such a lovely review. So earnest. Again, I know it was long and I like understand that feeling of I've been like just getting by figuring out sort of MacGyvering all these solutions that are like annoying and bulky and they take a long time and all And then finding that thing that just solves all the problems in a way that is simple for you, that's such a wonderful feeling.

So it makes sense to me why Santa was like, I gotta scream it from the rooftops. And I thought the whole storytelling was super interesting, being able to see at the top of the video, Santa taking us on the behind the scenes workshop tour of how this all happened, how the sausage is made, so to speak, I think was like very queenly.

[00:23:46] TREY GERRALD: I know, I do too, because there are many things being ticked off here, because A, when you're presenting a Santa Claus, that's gonna come across only as truthful, and to be fair, Ed was not wearing the Santa jumpsuit, but did have a red long sleeve shirt on,

[00:24:02] CHELSEY DONN: He was wearing like red, it looked like he was wearing red um, whatchamacallits, long johns

[00:24:09] TREY GERRALD: John's. I thought that too,

[00:24:10] CHELSEY DONN: whatever you call them, which I totally bought for like how Santa would be chilling in his house, like he's not gonna have the suit

[00:24:17] TREY GERRALD: food on, no,

[00:24:18] CHELSEY DONN: be

[00:24:19] TREY GERRALD: he wants to be comfortable. And also for like the common fluke, typical experience, like the reason Ed's joy is coming through besides the, that's

[00:24:27] CHELSEY DONN: towel prompter,

[00:24:28] TREY GERRALD: Claus, but it's like for this business model. If you're looking directly into camera to make a connection and having to remember personal details about someone, this is truly a game change, and I think that is typical, common for anyone looking for a teleprompter.

Like, and the fact that it's tiny and portable, you know, like, old fashioned teleprompters are like, Giant apparatuses that hook onto like stationary cameras that are wheeling around in the studio Like even if I was a news reporter doing field reports Like I can type up my script ahead of time like

[00:25:03] CHELSEY DONN: on my phone,

[00:25:04] TREY GERRALD: and then you're like recording live on the like It just seems like Ed's experience is going to be so typical for the person that's Googling this product and just so you know, I was Googling this product in the height of the pandemic when I, like, had all these auditions, like, from the comfort of

[00:25:20] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah, I was going to say, did you do this for auditions? Because this is like sort of

[00:25:23] TREY GERRALD: well then I realized you don't look directly into the camera as an

[00:25:26] CHELSEY DONN: Right. Yeah.

[00:25:27] TREY GERRALD: so then I was like, I guess I don't really need this, but Chelsey, it was not Christmas time when I found this, it was far from being Christmas, and I found Santa Ed, And was like, this is so hilarious and so random that I almost was like, well, I need to buy it.

Santa's telling me to buy it. And Santa knows everything about toys.

[00:25:45] CHELSEY DONN: That's right. I mean, I do think Santa did an excellent job of, Displaying the product, using it well, and also like showing us,

[00:25:53] TREY GERRALD: I know.

[00:25:54] CHELSEY DONN: telling us.

[00:25:55] TREY GERRALD: And then giving you examples of like the products that he produces. I mean, it was really, it is kind of queenly.

[00:26:02] CHELSEY DONN: How many people do you think like happened upon this review? And then we're like, Oh my God, I'm a hundred percent buying a cameo from Santa.

[00:26:11] TREY GERRALD: I mean.

[00:26:12] CHELSEY DONN: think it's a good bit. It's a good advertisement.

[00:26:14] TREY GERRALD: I clocked that at the end, how Santa Ed starts telling us about their business.

[00:26:19] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, a hundred percent. I mean, this was definitely a bit of an ad, but I also, I also think that that's queenly. I don't know because it's, it doesn't feel so

[00:26:30] TREY GERRALD: It doesn't feel that sleazy, because if you've made it to nine minutes into the video at that point, you're invested enough in Santa Ed that like, I do want to find out more ways to find him. I mean, I googled him

[00:26:40] CHELSEY DONN: right, immediately, and then if the, and the review itself, the written review, if you like, didn't want to spend nine minutes watching the video, was actually pretty short.

[00:26:49] TREY GERRALD: Pretty short, but they do say, like, it took me from being an amateur to a real professional. It's, the videos are simply amazing. I love

[00:26:57] CHELSEY DONN: No, there's quality there, but I'm saying in a

[00:26:59] TREY GERRALD: Oh, right.

[00:27:00] CHELSEY DONN: terms of it being an ad, it's not like, Now we have to, first we watch this video and now we have to listen to someone rattle on about their business for, you

[00:27:08] TREY GERRALD: It's pretty

[00:27:08] CHELSEY DONN: million paragraphs. It's pretty succinct as a review. So I think it serves in either, however, you're absorbing it,

[00:27:15] TREY GERRALD: Exactly. And I also like, as we move into the crowning, what's there for me is like, how much real estate are you spending on things that are unnecessary to the product? But the fact that this person has an authentic Santa Claus beard and legitimately looks like Santa Claus, I actually need a little background so that I don't think you're a wackadoo.

And I actually get like, Oh, you bought this product because you make Santa Claus videos. Like the background actually became necessary for me.

[00:27:42] CHELSEY DONN: But I could see how if you were a, a TikTok or if you were a news person that was doing news, or if you were someone that was doing something else, you could still see yourself in the Santa experience. Right.

[00:27:54] TREY GERRALD: I agree.

[00:27:55] CHELSEY DONN: I just love this stray. This is fascinating to

[00:27:58] TREY GERRALD: I took your, I took Chelsey's, uh, blossoming expansion of our show from the after show a couple of weeks ago of a YouTube review, and here we have a Santa Claus review.

[00:28:09] CHELSEY DONN: Big fan. I think I can go right into the cran, the crowning. If, if you, if you're the craning, I can go right into the cran and I'm just so excited. Should we do it?

[00:28:18] TREY GERRALD: Okay, yeah, me too. Let's crown it.

[00:28:20] CHELSEY DONN: Let's crown it.

[00:28:20] TREY GERRALD: So Chelsey and I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards. In an effort to be fair and not influenced by one another or Santa, we will simultaneously reveal our rating.

[00:28:39] VOICEOVER: Total Score

[00:28:40] CHELSEY DONN: Okay, five crowns, five crowns, Santa, you are a Review Queen verified by two queens, RQC and RQT, both gave you five crowns, I guess I go first, I mean, Santa, I just adore you and love you and think that you did so much for this product, what a win, I know exactly what the product is, I can see it from a visual standpoint, I can see it in the passion that you have about how this product has made your business better.

I think other people are going to be able to see themselves in you and I just think you're a freaking queen and I kind of want to hire you to do a little video for me and my fam or maybe I'll come and like meet you we can get a nosh or something at Beverly Hills. Anyway, I really, really enjoyed this review.

Thanks for bringing it in, Trey. I love the two modalities. What a star! Santa Claus, you are a review queen. How about you, Trey?

[00:29:28] TREY GERRALD: I love that. I mean, obviously, like, I can't not make Santa Claus a

[00:29:32] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah, how could we not?

[00:29:33] TREY GERRALD: I don't want to get coal for Christmas, you know?

[00:29:35] CHELSEY DONN: I want to be on the good list.

[00:29:36] TREY GERRALD: But everything you said, I mean, I always am yearning for photographic evidence, and this just like kicked that way over the edge, like, there are always like instructional videos every now and then on products I'm looking at on Amazon, but I don't always watch them because I don't need a step by step, but I also got, even from our conversation, like, the idea of this.

Like it all is a little complicated, so I did appreciate that Ed took the time to cut together with transitions we didn't talk about,

[00:30:07] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, yeah. Oh, my God. The transitions were epic.

[00:30:10] TREY GERRALD: video evidence of the product at work, I got a real expert, ASMR from him because he has struggled with this problem and this totally fixed it so i really just bought it and like ed spent a lot of work on this random video that he was attaching to this product on amazon like and this was from 2018 so Just a real review queen.

They really did their work and like want everyone to experience it and just how jolly he seemed He just seemed so jolly that I was really won over

[00:30:44] CHELSEY DONN: Ah, loved

[00:30:45] TREY GERRALD: I love it Maybe we should get these so that we can do our scripts on the teleprompter and never break the all precious

[00:30:51] CHELSEY DONN: God. We could try. Honestly, I don't know if that would make our Patreon viewers uncomfortable if we stared at you in the eye the whole time, but honestly, with the amount of things we read, I'm for it. Love it.

[00:31:02] TREY GERRALD: I love it too. All right. Well, that was that.

[00:31:05] CHELSEY DONN: so fun, Trey. Thank you for bringing in that Christmas treat. I loved

[00:31:10] TREY GERRALD: I love Christmas treats. Let's hear about another Christmas treat, Chelsey. Let's take this Jolly Edness, and I wanna know, cause we've reached the most regal portion of today's show. So, Chelsey, who are you inducting today, for?

[00:31:23] VOICEOVER: My Royal Highness. Happy

[00:31:28] CHELSEY DONN: synchronicity, as you and I are so apt to do, today, I really want to induct a group of people who may have been inducted before, but warrant repeating, and that is every single one of you. Delivery driver, whether it be UPS, FedEx, Amazon. I just think it's so important that we show our gratitude to these drivers that deliver all of our presents.

They really make such a difference for so many families. Where would we be if these people didn't show up for work? Truly, we would never be able to indulge the way that we do in ordering things online. These people are working overtime, over overtime. Making sure that all these packages get delivered.

They're the real Santas as far as I'm concerned. They are really doing the Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, insert your holiday of choice, miracles, and something that I'm going to be considering doing, I know maybe it's a little bit cheesy, you can find it online. There's all these templates. Where you can put together a little basket.

I found one that says, attention delivery drivers, UPS, FedEx and Amazon, we see you, we appreciate you and you mean the world to us. And then in a basket with like waters and chips and things like that, you know, maybe we should be doing that. Maybe we should show a little bit more gratitude. I wanted to leave you with that.

And I also wanted to induct and thank all the delivery workers today. You are my Royal Highness. Thank you.

[00:32:56] TREY GERRALD: That was beautiful. I love that idea, a little like goodie

[00:32:59] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah, isn't that nice?

[00:33:01] TREY GERRALD: Well, we did it, Queen. That

[00:33:02] CHELSEY DONN: We did.

[00:33:03] TREY GERRALD: the R U A R Q Ferris Wheel of Ho ho ho ho ho.

[00:33:09] CHELSEY DONN: Merry Christmas!

[00:33:11] TREY GERRALD: Oh wait, can you take that back? I didn't get it. I need, I missed the teleprompter. Can you take that back?

[00:33:15] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, let me

[00:33:16] TREY GERRALD: Ho ho ho ho ho.

[00:33:20] CHELSEY DONN: Merry Christmas! Thank you for joining us today. If you like what you heard, please tell a friend, tell Santa, tell the elves, tell Rudolph, tell them all,

[00:33:29] TREY GERRALD: If you did not like what you heard, tell an enemy. Or, who's the blue guy?

[00:33:35] CHELSEY DONN: blue guy,

[00:33:36] TREY GERRALD: Jack Frost. Tell

[00:33:38] CHELSEY DONN: oh, or Jack Frost. On this week's After Show Pod, we are rating and reviewing a two star Google review for Ice at Santa Monica, an ice rink in Santa Monica, California,

[00:33:54] TREY GERRALD: Oh, no, it's a two star?

[00:33:56] CHELSEY DONN: it's a two star.

[00:33:57] TREY GERRALD: Oh, no. Well, with that, I'm just really curious why this got said. Are

[00:34:05] CHELSEY DONN: ever make up any holiday songs when you were a kid?

[00:34:08] TREY GERRALD: you asking the audience or asking me?

[00:34:11] CHELSEY DONN: Both.

[00:34:12] TREY GERRALD: Let's wait for the audience to reply.

[00:34:15] CHELSEY DONN: Okay, I'm waiting. Oh, you did?

[00:34:18] TREY GERRALD: Wow.

[00:34:20] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, that's a good one. I like that song. That's hilarious. I do wonder that was a strange thing to

[00:34:28] TREY GERRALD: Wow, that's so curious. I guess I just really need to pay 4. 99 so I can

[00:34:31] CHELSEY DONN: guess so.

[00:34:33] TREY GERRALD: in the meantime, make sure you remember, Queens.

[00:34:36] CHELSEY DONN: Ignore the haters! You're a winter wonderland! Queen!

[00:34:40] TREY GERRALD: Gender nonspecific, Winter Wonderland, Chloe,

[00:36:08] TREY GERRALD: you ever loved a product so much that you would make an instructional video and attach it to Amazon?

[00:36:14] CHELSEY DONN: I can't say that I have.

[00:36:15] TREY GERRALD: Not me either!

[00:36:17] CHELSEY DONN: I can't say that I have, but I admire those who do, obviously. Big fan.

[00:36:21] TREY GERRALD: See you Friday, Queens. Have a wonderful Christmas.

[00:36:25] CHELSEY DONN: Happy Holidays.

[00:36:26] TREY GERRALD: Although Christmas is after the aftershow, so, you know what, just whatever, we'll,

[00:36:30] CHELSEY DONN: Just enjoy this time of year and, uh, try and stay sane while you're going shopping.

[00:36:35] TREY GERRALD: That part.

[00:00:00] CHELSEY DONN: Oh my god, Diva! Hi!

Get

Are

[00:34:31] CHELSEY DONN: guess so.
