[00:00:43] TREY GERRALD: Hi, Chelsey, and hello, listeners. Welcome, once again, to Review That Review. We are the podcast that is dedicated to reviewing.

[00:00:54] CHELSEY DONN: Reviews!

[00:00:56] TREY GERRALD: That is Chelsey

[00:00:58] CHELSEY DONN: that is Trey Gerrald.

[00:01:00] TREY GERRALD: But just go ahead and call us.

[00:01:02] VOICEOVER: The Review Queens,

[00:01:05] TREY GERRALD: Chelsey, I gotta know, what's going on in your world here at the very end of July?

[00:01:12] CHELSEY DONN: Oh my goodness.

[00:01:14] VOICEOVER: Lager complaint,

[00:01:16] TREY GERRALD: About

[00:01:16] CHELSEY DONN: Yes, Trey. Well, I've been holding this in last week. We did a one in five for Hamburger Mary's, right?

[00:01:23] TREY GERRALD: Hopefully. Oh,

[00:01:28] CHELSEY DONN: So last week we did a one in five at Hamburger Mary's and when Trey was in town. I think we mentioned it. We went to Hamburger Mary's together and I had like a live complaint happen, but I said to you, I'm going to save it.

[00:01:42] CHELSEY DONN: I have to save it for the show. Right?

[00:01:46] CHELSEY DONN: Okay. So I went to go to the bathroom. Okay. There was a whole like line of two girls waiting. One girl that was in the front of the line decided, I can't wait anymore. I'm just going to leave. Then the other girl standing there, I'm standing behind her. We're waiting, we're waiting, we're waiting, we're waiting, we're waiting, we're waiting, I finally say like, did you knock on the door?

[00:02:07] CHELSEY DONN: Is there somebody in there? Like what's going on? She knocks, she knocks on the door, she jiggles the handle. The bathroom is fucking open. The bathroom next to it was ALSO OPEN!

[00:02:19] CHELSEY DONN: So, two schmucks, and then, you know, myself for a little bit, are waiting on this line, creating this bathroom line, when there is NO REASON!

[00:02:28] CHELSEY DONN: Listen to me. If you are at the front of the bathroom line, it is your responsibility to make sure that there is a reason to wait on the line. The fact that we're waiting in line and we could be moving this along? What the hell? Get it together.

[00:02:44] TREY GERRALD: okay, so this touches me deeply

[00:02:46] CHELSEY DONN: good,

[00:02:47] TREY GERRALD: Especially when the bathroom is like individual doors, so you can't see the stall, knocking makes me a little uncomfortable.

[00:02:56] CHELSEY DONN: sure,

[00:02:56] TREY GERRALD: But boy, oh boy, have I been in the circumstance and this happens at Broadway shows a lot because you're just lining up So you're just going on the blind faith

[00:03:04] CHELSEY DONN: yes,

[00:03:04] TREY GERRALD: people before you have like been reasonable and this may not happen for women But when men are lining up, sometimes you'll be in the long queue, the long line But some people are waiting for the stalls because they got to go number

[00:03:16] CHELSEY DONN: sure,

[00:03:17] TREY GERRALD: So then there's a divide and conquer, and then sometimes, like, people don't have to go number two, so then there's just, like, toilets that are open, but everyone doesn't know because they're waiting on the urinals, and it just becomes so frustrating, and you feel like, I gotta get out of here, and then you find out you've just been waiting for no

[00:03:31] CHELSEY DONN: for no effing

[00:03:33] CHELSEY DONN: reason,

[00:03:34] TREY GERRALD: Zero to one hundred.

[00:03:36] CHELSEY DONN: ugh, it's so annoying.

[00:03:38] TREY GERRALD: I feel that. I'm sorry that you experienced that, and I'm sorry you had to sit on that

[00:03:41] CHELSEY DONN: Ugh,

[00:03:42] CHELSEY DONN: well you had the complaint during the 1 in 5, so I wanted to talk about it during Hamburger Mary's, but I knew I could talk about it today,

[00:03:50] CHELSEY DONN: and I also want to know, Trey, should we jump into an online review?

[00:03:54] TREY GERRALD: I think we should jump jump cuz

[00:03:56] CHELSEY DONN: For you, love!

[00:03:58] TREY GERRALD: Episode

[00:03:59] CHELSEY DONN: Yay! I know, I know,

[00:04:01] TREY GERRALD: we're gonna get into

[00:04:02] CHELSEY DONN: I know, we're good into it.

[00:04:03] TREY GERRALD: do it.

[00:04:05] VOICEOVER: Review That Review,

[00:04:09] CHELSEY DONN: As your trusty review queens, we bring in reviews, from the internet, that we feel need to be inspected.

[00:04:16] TREY GERRALD: We read you a review. We break it down together We rate the impact of that review on a scale from zero to five crowns. It's a very regal process that we call

[00:04:26] VOICEOVER: Kvetch,

[00:04:27] CHELSEY DONN: That's right, and Trey, special delivery alert, special delivery alert, I've been sitting on this delivery for a minute because the way that time works out, I'm dying to know what's in this, this package that's been sitting in the hallway, all I'll say is that it is packaged a little differently for me than you, but similar,

[00:04:46] TREY GERRALD: we got to talk about it. So in live time, Chelsey and I are gonna open the packages She still has no idea

[00:04:51] CHELSEY DONN: I have no idea what this is,

[00:04:52] TREY GERRALD: Do you want to describe the differences?

[00:04:55] CHELSEY DONN: Okay, so Trey's is wrapped in like the paper kind of envelope and then in a box that's like, I mean mine is heavy, so I'm assuming yours is heavy. Mine has like the plastic outerlay, but then there's still a box. Like at first, honestly, it feels almost like a shoe box. I was like, you sent me shoes?

[00:05:14] CHELSEY DONN: That'd be weird, you sent me shoes, even though my shoe size. But it feels like heavier

[00:05:19] TREY GERRALD: Mm hmm.

[00:05:19] CHELSEY DONN: than shoes. Like it feels like, like a figurine or like a sculpture or something. It feels hefty.

[00:05:26] TREY GERRALD: Well, give it a little shake. Do you have any inclinations?

[00:05:31] CHELSEY DONN: I feel like mine, it's heavy. I mean, I'm thinking like a figurine, like, like a Statue of Liberty or

[00:05:39] CHELSEY DONN: that would have been, or I don't know something. It feels like it might be like that styrofoamed in there. Cause I don't think mine's really moving very much.

[00:05:46] TREY GERRALD: All right, well, let's open them.

[00:05:48] CHELSEY DONN: Oh my god,

[00:05:48] TREY GERRALD: outer package.

[00:05:50] CHELSEY DONN: okay, I'm so excited. This is like Christmas in July, almost August, oh my goodness,

[00:05:58] TREY GERRALD: It looks like this might be similar. Is there anything telling you what is in your box?

[00:06:03] CHELSEY DONN: okay, oh, I think we have the same box,

[00:06:06] CHELSEY DONN: So

[00:06:07] CHELSEY DONN: it has a patented, oh wait, there's, oh my god, there is something on the outside, it tells me what it is, Trey!

[00:06:15] TREY GERRALD: Oh, mine doesn't say.

[00:06:16] CHELSEY DONN: Look at the sticker at the, at the top of the sticker.

[00:06:19] TREY GERRALD: I have another sticker on top of a sticker, and my sticker just says, it's a barcode, it says LPNPMPZ48789751, but I can't see what the sticker underneath it says.

[00:06:29] CHELSEY DONN: Okay, I can, but I'm so excited about this.

[00:06:32] TREY GERRALD: Well, what is it, girl?

[00:06:33] CHELSEY DONN: Oh my goodness. Oh my god, Trey, you look so good. Okay, this is, you guys, I'm like kind of freaking out. Oh my god, Trey's in full drag. It is a shake weight. I always wanted a shake weight. Trey, you look so good. Trey's like in full

[00:06:52] CHELSEY DONN: workout regalia, like he's giving me Jan's sport vibes.

[00:06:57] CHELSEY DONN: A little bit. I love it. You have a headband, you have wristbands. It's like neon. I want that whole outfit. Trey, you look so good, Gesundheit. You look great. Oh my goodness. Let's get physical. Oh my god, I have a Shady Queen. This is amazing.

[00:07:17] TREY GERRALD: Wait, you already have a shake weight?

[00:07:19] CHELSEY DONN: No, I've never had one. I've always wanted one. I'm saying like I now own a shake weight.

[00:07:23] CHELSEY DONN: Like this is very exciting and this is coming at a perfect time, Trey, because I'm like trying to work out more and like be more physical. I can't even tell you how excited I am about this. This is like, wow, what a treat. Trey, you look so good.

[00:07:38] TREY GERRALD: so from the inception of this podcast, I have wanted to do the shake weight.

[00:07:43] TREY GERRALD: Now,

[00:07:44] CHELSEY DONN: am so excited.

[00:07:45] TREY GERRALD: at the beginning of this process, I couldn't find shake weights, and I also found an article saying that they caused more damage than

[00:07:54] CHELSEY DONN: Oh,

[00:07:54] TREY GERRALD: and so you weren't able to purchase the official shake weights anymore. But I did spend 40 for each of us

[00:08:01] CHELSEY DONN: thank you. This is so nice.

[00:08:03] TREY GERRALD: shake weights.

[00:08:04] CHELSEY DONN: Wow. And why are they not safe?

[00:08:07] TREY GERRALD: Well, maybe we'll delve into

[00:08:08] CHELSEY DONN: Huh? Oh, no. Now I'm nervous. How do you lay this down?

[00:08:12] TREY GERRALD: So, okay, so yeah, so we are going to do a live review on the aftershow today, so that will be coming. But on the main show, now that Chelsey is informed, we're going to be covering a two star walmart. com review

[00:08:26] CHELSEY DONN: Okay,

[00:08:27] TREY GERRALD: the ShakeWeight. Have you ever used a ShakeWeight in your life? Have you ever held one?

[00:08:32] CHELSEY DONN: I mean, this is my first time ever holding a shake weight.

[00:08:35] TREY GERRALD: me too.

[00:08:35] CHELSEY DONN: I do remember the infomercials.

[00:08:38] TREY GERRALD: Well, yeah, they were very, very popular.

[00:08:40] CHELSEY DONN: It was all the rage. I always wanted one. I just never got one.

[00:08:43] TREY GERRALD: So today's two star Walmart review was written by a customer named Doris G. This might be our first Doris.

[00:08:51] CHELSEY DONN: That was my grandmother's name, Doris.

[00:08:54] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah.

[00:08:55] TREY GERRALD: Doris on Walmart has a subject.

[00:08:58] CHELSEY DONN: Okay.

[00:08:59] TREY GERRALD: subject is, sorely mistaken and utterly dismayed.

[00:09:05] CHELSEY DONN: Hmm.

[00:09:05] TREY GERRALD: Two star.

[00:09:06] CHELSEY DONN: Utterly dismayed.

[00:09:09] CHELSEY DONN: Yes.

[00:09:10] TREY GERRALD: Strap in. Here we go.

[00:09:11] CHELSEY DONN: Okay.

[00:09:12] TREY GERRALD: This was written May 2nd of 2014. Sorely mistaken, utterly dismayed. Here we are. In a culture that often idolizes physical perfection.

[00:09:25] CHELSEY DONN: Hmm. Hmm.

[00:09:25] TREY GERRALD: call to prioritize humility, selflessness, and service to others over personal gain or acclaim. As a Christ follower myself, I question whether

[00:09:40] CHELSEY DONN: Oh my god. Pfft. Hmm. Hmm. Oh my god. Hmm. Oh my god. Hmm. Pfft. Hmm. Oh my god. Hmm. Hmm.

[00:10:00] TREY GERRALD: this product's suggestive design and suggestive gyrating movements of rapid back and forth motion Made me feel deeply uncomfortable and tremendously sad. And to be forced to watch myself doing it in a mirror, dot, dot, dot. A second offense. As such, being a devout person of faith, this tool goes against my religious values. To engage in activities that promote such overtly sexualized imagery. Parentheses, I should have known better, but I trusted Lisa Robertson on QVC, as she is also a Christian. Dot dot, but I suppose money really is evil. Period. In parentheses. All caps. If I have not been clear enough, me spell it out. Using the shake weight left me feeling conflicted, disappointed, regretful, And to be honest, I would caution fellow believers to steer clear of this product. I could not in good conscience recommend this product to anyone who values their spiritual integrity. stick with a can of peas. It's cheaper, less demonic, and something my pastor blesses all the time for food drives. As our Lord Almighty gives us grace. So will I, two stars, May you see your errors, Repent and join the kingdom soon,

[00:11:52] CHELSEY DONN: Oh my god,

[00:11:54] TREY GERRALD: Finally, dot dot dot, to you reading this right now, Where will you stand when the flood comes?,

[00:12:01] CHELSEY DONN: oh no, oh

[00:12:08] TREY GERRALD: Glory to

[00:12:09] CHELSEY DONN: god,

[00:12:09] TREY GERRALD: on the highest, 3, 16,

[00:12:15] CHELSEY DONN: oh my god, Um, is him capital H?

[00:12:20] TREY GERRALD: You know it,

[00:12:20] CHELSEY DONN: Okay. Okay, well you know what the good news is, Trey?

[00:12:26] CHELSEY DONN: In the eyes of this woman, we're both going to hell. So,

[00:12:31] TREY GERRALD: wait,

[00:12:32] CHELSEY DONN: I'll see you there with the shake weight.

[00:12:33] TREY GERRALD: Well, I did buy it for you, So, sadly, I'm punishing you to death,

[00:12:38] CHELSEY DONN: I mean, first of all, I'm getting a decent workout.

[00:12:42] TREY GERRALD: we're doing a live

[00:12:43] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right.

[00:12:45] CHELSEY DONN: Okay, I won't give it away for free.

[00:12:47] TREY GERRALD: of all, do you know what John 3, 16 is? Subs

[00:12:49] CHELSEY DONN: No,

[00:12:50] TREY GERRALD: you know what that means? It's a biblical verse.

[00:12:52] CHELSEY DONN: no, I know that it means that it's a biblical verse. I don't know what John 3, 16, like, are you saying like, do I know what somebody means when they say John 3, 16?

[00:12:59] TREY GERRALD: Like, do you know the quote?

[00:13:01] CHELSEY DONN: No, I don't know the quote.

[00:13:02] TREY GERRALD: I believe it's for he's so loved. The world he gave his one and only begotten son or something. Let me see.

[00:13:08] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, probably.

[00:13:09] TREY GERRALD: John 3 16. I know listeners are screaming. Um, yeah, it's, um, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. I was right

[00:13:19] CHELSEY DONN: Good job, Trey.

[00:13:20] TREY GERRALD: who believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

[00:13:26] CHELSEY DONN: Okay, I have so many thoughts, obviously, I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to frame this.

[00:13:30] TREY GERRALD: Wait, do you think Doris is a Christian? I wasn't sure from this.

[00:13:33] CHELSEY DONN: Well, my grandmother was Jewish, so I had a whole different, like, vision in my head, but yes, I would imagine that Doris is Christian. They mentioned it a few times.

[00:13:43] TREY GERRALD: How do you know if someone's vegan? They're going to tell

[00:13:46] CHELSEY DONN: And they're gonna tell ya, I mean, why are we pushing this agenda on? I mean, then I'm like, it's Walmart, So maybe there's like people that are of the same mind as Doris not to like stereotype Walmart, But I do feel like there's a lot of God fearing folk in the Walmart populace, but like this is just so inappropriate and like, really Doris? What did you think you were buying, is my question.

[00:14:15] TREY GERRALD: Also, another question is, did they buy it on QVC or did they buy it on Walmart?

[00:14:19] CHELSEY DONN: If they bought it, if they saw it, either way, they saw it on QVC, and they saw, and it didn't occur to them when they were watching it on QVC, what it would look like. Also, who's forcing you to look at yourself in the mirror, and who's forcing you to look at yourself in the mirror.

[00:14:37] TREY GERRALD: This is the best part of the review. To make

[00:14:39] CHELSEY DONN: I

[00:14:40] TREY GERRALD: this in the mirror. How

[00:14:42] CHELSEY DONN: mean, who tied you up and put you in front of a mirror and was, and was like, watch yourself while you do, I don't know. I mean, maybe they say watch yourself because it could get dangerous if you like weren't looking. There's just so much Bible in here. And I always, a little, and I always hate how they're like, if you're reading this and you haven't been found, please find yourself.

[00:15:06] CHELSEY DONN: And if you're reading this and you haven't, you're going to hell, but I love you anyway. Like, just,

[00:15:12] TREY GERRALD: Do you think Doris is compassionate?

[00:15:15] CHELSEY DONN: no,

[00:15:17] CHELSEY DONN: I don't think so. I mean, this is, Again, I'm like deciding how deep I want to get into this conversation on the main show, but like, Trey can't stop looking at himself. This is the problem when Trey dresses up and he like sees how beautiful he is in drag. He's just like, I cannot stop looking at this sexy woman with this cur like,

[00:15:37] TREY GERRALD: Well, I picked this wig because I know it's going to

[00:15:38] CHELSEY DONN: This blonde fro, it's amazing. Anyway, now I'm distracted by your beauty. Okay. So this is the point, like you're so indignant about your own belief that you're so judgmental of everything. Like, I don't understand that as a religious principle. Like I would think. If I believed in Jesus, which I'm a Jew, so I don't, I, I believe that Jesus exists.

[00:16:04] CHELSEY DONN: I don't believe that he was the Messiah, but whatever. I don't need to preach my agenda here. But Jesus was like kind and sacrificed themselves and was nonjudgmental and had all of these beautiful qualities. That's why he became the Messiah. He was performing miracles. He was doing God's work on earth. Okay, Doris, my dear, is this two star review doing God's work?

[00:16:35] TREY GERRALD: Well, maybe you could argue it is because maybe it's so blasphemous to shake up and down.

[00:16:41] CHELSEY DONN: If I am that strict about even going near anything that could possibly have sexual innuendo, am I buying a shake weight?

[00:16:52] TREY GERRALD: I mean, I guess Doris is speaking for those that didn't catch it

[00:16:57] CHELSEY DONN: I just think Doris is gonna catch a lot more people that don't fall into this camp. Than do in the review section maybe. I don't know.

[00:17:07] TREY GERRALD: I mean, it's a really, this is a conundrum of a review because it's not so much a review of the product as it is where we are as a culture.

[00:17:17] CHELSEY DONN: this was 2014,

[00:17:19] CHELSEY DONN: but I don't know if that makes it better or worse.

[00:17:21] TREY GERRALD: How old do you think Doris is? The name makes me

[00:17:24] CHELSEY DONN: It seems old.

[00:17:26] TREY GERRALD: Right. Also, when was the height of Shake Weight? Way before 2014, right?

[00:17:31] CHELSEY DONN: I think we could look it up quickly. Oh,

[00:17:33] TREY GERRALD: I mean, I remember infomercials and that was like 2014.

[00:17:36] TREY GERRALD: I was about to get married. So like I wasn't watching infomercials at that time.

[00:17:40] CHELSEY DONN: all right.

[00:17:41] TREY GERRALD: like this was an early 2000s idea, like as seen on

[00:17:43] CHELSEY DONN: Yes. The shake weight was invented in 2009,

[00:17:49] TREY GERRALD: Oh,

[00:17:50] CHELSEY DONN: it debuted in 2009.

[00:17:52] TREY GERRALD: okay. So it's close,

[00:17:53] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah.

[00:17:54] TREY GERRALD: But you know, this is not my worldview. I was raised to believe it was my worldview. So I've had a trajectory of letting that go. But this first is why I was struck by this because they're talking about the biblical principle of stewardship, which is maintaining a healthy body in order to honor

[00:18:15] CHELSEY DONN: Right,

[00:18:16] CHELSEY DONN: and

[00:18:16] CHELSEY DONN: that's why they, I guess, bought the product? Is that the justification? Like, I was trying

[00:18:22] TREY GERRALD: so,

[00:18:23] CHELSEY DONN: Right,

[00:18:24] TREY GERRALD: they're recognizing in order to like serve God, you must be healthy. But then they conflict that with this culture that we're in where Physical perfection is idolized and we shouldn't have false idols if God is the only idol.

[00:18:38] CHELSEY DONN: right.

[00:18:39] TREY GERRALD: an interesting conundrum. I can see where you might be, be conflicted,

[00:18:42] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah.

[00:18:43] TREY GERRALD: is, and, and, and wanting to do Shake Weight for years of this podcast, I think people got injured because the repetition I think causes strain on wrists and shoulders and, and, and they're like anything, you're going to have a misuse of a product because you're doing it at home.

[00:19:00] TREY GERRALD: No one's overseeing, so you

[00:19:02] CHELSEY DONN: and I'll see you in the next video.

[00:19:10] TREY GERRALD: the value of the product. They even say, I'll just use peas. Are you kidding me? who has cans

[00:19:17] CHELSEY DONN: First of all, that was so funny to me because I was thinking, okay, I can kind of understand using peas as a weight, I guess, like, okay, I'm gonna do bicep curls with a can of peas,

[00:19:30] CHELSEY DONN: but

[00:19:30] TREY GERRALD: Covid times

[00:19:31] CHELSEY DONN: right, but are you shaking the can of peas? Like, what are you doing? Like, are you just sitting there with a can of peas and shaking it?

[00:19:38] CHELSEY DONN: Because the whole point about the shake weight, what differentiates the shake weight from a regular weight is the fact that it shakes. So it's not a can of peas, right?

[00:19:48] TREY GERRALD: my, in my research, 'cause I, I really went down a tunnel. Uh, this is how I ended up on Walmart. I don't know if we've ever had a Walmart review,

[00:19:55] CHELSEY DONN: We have, we've, yeah,

[00:19:56] TREY GERRALD: okay. Well, I got down such a tunnel because I guess there was a version of the Shake Weight that actually had a battery so it would shake

[00:20:05] CHELSEY DONN: it was like a vibe, like, okay,

[00:20:07] TREY GERRALD: But the original conceit, that was like Shake Weight XL Pro or something. The original was you create the shaking and you maintain the shake.

[00:20:16] CHELSEY DONN: right, yeah, that's what makes it, it's like a BOSU ball, like, you're, like, not stable on it, so you have to, you know, you engage your core,

[00:20:24] TREY GERRALD: as far as our talking points,

[00:20:26] CHELSEY DONN: mm hmm, yeah.

[00:20:28] TREY GERRALD: unique perspective,

[00:20:31] CHELSEY DONN: I guess.

[00:20:32] TREY GERRALD: if I'm gonna lose weight or if it's just a gimmicky product or like, this is literally just a testimonial of their love of Christ.

[00:20:41] CHELSEY DONN: Well, that's what I was going to say is like, I think in order for me to talk about this, I need to think about it as if anyone got on a forum to talk about a product and instead of talking about the product, started giving a dissertation about cheese or started giving a dissertation about roller coasters while they're talking about the shake weight, I would be like, Why do we care about the roller coaster?

[00:21:07] CHELSEY DONN: That this is not about that. This is about a shake weight. So you come to a forum that is looking for reviews about a product and you've done nothing but judge the person who's buying the product.

[00:21:21] TREY GERRALD: Yeah, that is interesting. It's like a, it's an interesting assumption that because your view of Jesus This is a certain way that my view of Jesus

[00:21:30] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah.

[00:21:30] TREY GERRALD: which is like, when we start getting into religion, it can get, because it's all interpretable, it's

[00:21:35] CHELSEY DONN: like,

[00:21:35] TREY GERRALD: the pastor you go to

[00:21:36] CHELSEY DONN: You chose, like, you chose to buy the product, you chose to use the product, you saw it in an infomercial, You didn't like it, it made you feel dirty, Return it. Like, I don't know that, like, what, like, what are you saying here? All you're saying is you're giving this a two star review because this product doesn't deserve to exist because it's ungodly?

[00:22:00] TREY GERRALD: Well, I think that's right. And so is that valuable? Cause if I believe the same as Doris, is this giving me value?

[00:22:07] CHELSEY DONN: Maybe I'm, I don't know. Maybe I'm underestimating the amount of Dorises there are in the world, but, and obviously we grew up in different, you know, Religions and also like, you know, um, geographically different areas, right?

[00:22:22] CHELSEY DONN: So I don't know, like, maybe there are a lot of Walmart customers that are going to feel this way, but I don't think that they need to go to the review section of this product to be past ritized, past ritized? Is that the word?

[00:22:37] TREY GERRALD: know.

[00:22:38] CHELSEY DONN: Whatever. Yeah, like, I don't, I don't think, I don't think they need to be preached to in this forum, Doris,

[00:22:45] CHELSEY DONN: personally.

[00:22:46] TREY GERRALD: It's a shocking stance. I mean, I think that the joke and why Shake Weight became such a cultural touchstone is because it looks like you're jerking off a

[00:22:54] CHELSEY DONN: Right. Exactly.

[00:22:56] TREY GERRALD: But do you think that, like, a lot of Christians were offended by this? Like, I

[00:22:59] CHELSEY DONN: Maybe, I think definitely, I like remember when it came out, and I'm sure there was like an SNL skit about it, and it was like a thing, yeah, so I don't know,

[00:23:10] CHELSEY DONN: but again, I think

[00:23:11] TREY GERRALD: Do you think this is a typical response?

[00:23:13] CHELSEY DONN: I don't, okay, I think that this might be a typical response of people watching an infomercial about the product being like, it looks like you're jerking someone off, like, yeah, clearly.

[00:23:24] CHELSEY DONN: But do I think this is a common response of someone that has bought the product? And also, like, on the product page itself, even beyond the infomercial, does it have, like, a little video of somebody Doing it.

[00:23:37] CHELSEY DONN: Okay. So, you know what you're buying. So I don't think that it's so common on this product page for people to go on this and be like, Oh, I just had to run to the comments to cleanse myself.

[00:23:52] CHELSEY DONN: I needed to be baptized from this experience. Oh, I'm dirty. Like no, I don't think that's gonna be common.

[00:24:01] TREY GERRALD: lifewaybible. com, like, if this was a Christian company that was selling it,

[00:24:05] CHELSEY DONN: Right? Sure.

[00:24:07] TREY GERRALD: that would be appropriate,

[00:24:08] CHELSEY DONN: Right, maybe.

[00:24:09] TREY GERRALD: I don't know. I just, I wonder, I mean, I get, if we take Doris at her word

[00:24:13] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah.

[00:24:14] TREY GERRALD: really struck them that way, and they did try the product and then they caught themselves in the mirror and were like, wait, I have been tricked.

[00:24:20] TREY GERRALD: I've been usurped by the devil. Then sure. I don't know that this is typical.

[00:24:26] CHELSEY DONN: All right. I want to talk about the value.

[00:24:29] CHELSEY DONN: Show me the value. I'll wait. Show

[00:24:36] TREY GERRALD: I don't like that they call Lisa Robertson, who I don't even know who that is, evil from money because they're selling, I mean, it's literally her job,

[00:24:44] CHELSEY DONN: me the value.

[00:24:46] CHELSEY DONN: What do I learn about the shake weight from this review?

[00:24:51] TREY GERRALD: Well, we learned that it possibly, if you're very devout, as they repeat over and over, one doth protest too much, perhaps, that it made them feel duped into demonic actions.

[00:25:02] CHELSEY DONN: Is that new unique information that I wouldn't learn based on just like the video

[00:25:09] TREY GERRALD: I don't know. I don't think

[00:25:10] CHELSEY DONN: if I felt a certain kind of way?

[00:25:12] TREY GERRALD: I mean, because they reference at least seeing it on QVC. I don't know if they bought it on QVC but left the review on Walmart. I don't know. But anything on QVC, you're going to watch the product being

[00:25:22] CHELSEY DONN: correct,

[00:25:23] TREY GERRALD: you didn't catch it there,

[00:25:25] CHELSEY DONN: right, that

[00:25:26] CHELSEY DONN: like if you didn't catch it on QVC and then you're like I'll buy it on Walmart And then the product page has a video. There's just like so many fail safes along the way, like even if this review had been I'm so disgusted by this. I would never buy this product. It is abhorrent Maybe then I would like understand a little bit, but you bought the product you knew what it was

[00:25:51] TREY GERRALD: Right.

[00:25:52] CHELSEY DONN: Why did you need to bring it home and look at yourself doing it in the mirror to decide that it was dirty?

[00:25:58] CHELSEY DONN: It's pretty friggin obvious. No matter where you're looking at it from. So I don't

[00:26:02] TREY GERRALD: Doris was like mouth agape as they were doing it and they just like caught a glimpse and

[00:26:06] CHELSEY DONN: like it was like,

[00:26:10] TREY GERRALD: a bead of sweat fell into their

[00:26:12] CHELSEY DONN: oh my god, I'm dying. It's like, like, oh my god, this looks just like me and whatever their husband's name is.

[00:26:18] TREY GERRALD: Jeffrey, I don't think, I don't think Jeffrey and Doris were having a lot of sex.

[00:26:20] CHELSEY DONN: I don't think

[00:26:21] TREY GERRALD: only to procreate.

[00:26:23] CHELSEY DONN: You're right. I haven't

[00:26:25] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah,

[00:26:25] TREY GERRALD: shady? Is it truthful?

[00:26:27] CHELSEY DONN: I think it's shady because I think like it's just that general like like we always say with these sort of sort of more Southern theme reviews like bless your heart You're gonna go to hell, but if I had a choice, I would pray for you.

[00:26:42] TREY GERRALD: I mean, we can talk about this on the aftershow as we do a live review, but like,

[00:26:45] CHELSEY DONN: Okay.

[00:26:45] TREY GERRALD: for me because of personal

[00:26:47] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah, of course

[00:26:48] TREY GERRALD: but it is like, it is, it just doesn't seem very loving

[00:26:52] CHELSEY DONN: seems kind of yes,

[00:26:53] TREY GERRALD: going to the Kingdom of Heaven, I'm praying that you will,

[00:26:56] CHELSEY DONN: Right.

[00:26:57] TREY GERRALD: that you're better than me, or something,

[00:26:59] CHELSEY DONN: And you're usurping the product for your own agenda. So that's shady to me.

[00:27:04] CHELSEY DONN: Obviously, it was humorous,

[00:27:07] CHELSEY DONN: it was not an, I, you know what, that was a, that was a question that I had at various points because I thought if you're going to make a joke about shake weights, And you're going to play a character that's going to be the most offended about a shake weight, you would probably pick Doris. So, I was like, was it a fake review? Was it a planted review? But it felt real, too.

[00:27:33] TREY GERRALD: do you think it's

[00:27:34] CHELSEY DONN: There were just a few times when we were reading it that I was like, this is such an agenda thing, like, is this even, like, real life? Or is this somebody being like, oh my god, look at this hilarious Christian review of, Uh, yeah, with a can of pea, you know what I mean?

[00:27:49] CHELSEY DONN: Like, it feels like a groundling sketch or something, so that's why I was like,

[00:27:54] TREY GERRALD: maybe it's fake.

[00:27:55] CHELSEY DONN: yeah, maybe. Either way, we were humored, we don't know whether or not we should give credit for that to Doris or not, like was it intentional, was it not?

[00:28:06] TREY GERRALD: I guess I just wonder, like, do you think that Doris's pastor, like, would be proud of this review? Like, do you

[00:28:11] CHELSEY DONN: But that's the whole point, that's what I mean, like, everything is such hypocrisy. Because it's like, Jesus wouldn't have wanted you to be so judgmental. They would have wanted you to just let the person experience their own journey. Right? Like if the shake

[00:28:28] TREY GERRALD: show you the way.

[00:28:29] CHELSEY DONN: show you the,

[00:28:30] TREY GERRALD: where we're getting stuck with Doris, is they think they're showing the way, but

[00:28:34] CHELSEY DONN: but they're not, they're being exactly. And I don't love that, but. That's the general impact for me, right? So that kind of takes away from any value of the product, because the impact is really about Doris and their platform and not about the product, but

[00:28:51] CHELSEY DONN: I've,

[00:28:52] TREY GERRALD: appreciate your distinction of sort of like moving the analogy

[00:28:56] CHELSEY DONN: right,

[00:28:56] TREY GERRALD: Christ.

[00:28:57] CHELSEY DONN: yeah, exactly,

[00:28:59] TREY GERRALD: about cheese

[00:29:00] CHELSEY DONN: right, right. Of

[00:29:03] TREY GERRALD: neither you nor I, like, you know, we don't follow the Christian guideposts. So without being like awful to people that do,

[00:29:11] CHELSEY DONN: course,

[00:29:12] TREY GERRALD: like pulling out. Using an analogy here, like this is about doris's specific following followship of a faith

[00:29:20] CHELSEY DONN: right,

[00:29:21] TREY GERRALD: be a little more extreme than others. And, and it's not so much about the product, which is a little complicated,

[00:29:27] CHELSEY DONN: right, and it could be about anything, it could be anyone who's really going off topic for any reason, this would be kind of my opinion at least. I think I can crown Doris.

[00:29:39] CHELSEY DONN: Okay,

[00:29:39] TREY GERRALD: conflicted, but let's, let's try.

[00:29:41] CHELSEY DONN: okay.

[00:29:42] TREY GERRALD: All right. So Chelsea and I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards. In an effort to be fair and biblical and not influenced by one another's. Denomination. We will simultaneously reveal our Jesus freak ratings.

[00:30:01] VOICEOVER: Total Score,

[00:30:02] CHELSEY DONN: Okay, wow, Trey, we're really on a roll here. Queens are unanimous again. Half crown, half crown. I'm really just giving the half crown for like the humor and the fact that I got to see you in drag today and that this inspired this conversation. Other than that, obviously, I can't give Doris any credit because she didn't do the fundamental job of a review, which is to review the product, not the product. Anything outside of that. So I really could only just throw Doris a half of a bone. I'm sure she'd throw it back. But that's what she's getting from me. Why half crown for Doris from you?

[00:30:41] TREY GERRALD: I'm just saying a half crown because I don't know that the impact of this is going to stop me from using the shake weight. I do think the shake weight has become a novelty. I think it's a gimmick. I don't know. We're going to do a live review, but

[00:30:51] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah

[00:30:52] TREY GERRALD: probably funnier than it is valuable, which is why it took off so much.

[00:30:55] TREY GERRALD: But I'm doing half a crown because Doris is sharing their truth, which we're all allowed to. I do think they lose the way. Of reviewing this product. But if I take this at their word, I get the impact of what this has done for Doris's Bible study and that they need to sort of like get back on the path and really repent themselves because it really took them and they don't appreciate it.

[00:31:19] TREY GERRALD: And they want to leave a little warning for anyone that believes is them. And ultimately, sure, that's queenly. Sure. I don't know that they're hurting anyone at the end of the day, but it's a very specific point of view. So half a crown for that. Obviously I bought two of them. So that was the impact for me.

[00:31:36] CHELSEY DONN: Wow, so fun. Trey, thank you so much for my gift. I love it.

[00:31:42] TREY GERRALD: I can't wait to live

[00:31:43] CHELSEY DONN: I can't wait to try it on the after show.

[00:31:45] TREY GERRALD: we're gonna, we're gonna shake our weights on the

[00:31:48] CHELSEY DONN: Yes.

[00:31:48] CHELSEY DONN: Yes.

[00:31:49] TREY GERRALD: do, Chelsey, we have reached not the most Christian portion, but we have reached the most regal portion of today's show. Chelsey, who are you inducting today for?

[00:31:58] VOICEOVER: My Royal Highness.

[00:32:00] CHELSEY DONN: I don't know if I've done this before. If I have, I'm going to do it again. I want to nominate TaskRabbit. Now the rabbit is a whole nother story, but TaskRabbit is a platform where you can go on and find like a handyman or find any, really anything that you might need at a short turnaround notice and have things done.

[00:32:21] CHELSEY DONN: And I don't really use TaskRabbit that much generally, but I recently got some new curtains. And I've already had this guy come twice through TaskRabbit, and he's great, he's super fast and efficient, and the thing is, and I'll have to do a little more researching, there are reviews, so you can really cater who you want to hire based on how many reviews that person has and what the reviews say, like personally I'm looking for someone who is fast and efficient, so I I just love TaskRabbit.

[00:32:52] CHELSEY DONN: I think it's fantastic, but I really enjoyed my time on the website and or on the app and I wanted to nominate them as My Royal Highness. Thank you, TaskRabbit.

[00:33:06] TREY GERRALD: Very nice. I think I've done TaskRabbit before.

[00:33:10] CHELSEY DONN: Have you?

[00:33:11] TREY GERRALD: from Ikea, they recommend TaskRabbit.

[00:33:13] CHELSEY DONN: Okay.

[00:33:13] TREY GERRALD: there's some, like, affiliation. But God, that's so genius, because there are so many people that have a lot of expertise and things like that.

[00:33:20] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah.

[00:33:21] TREY GERRALD: for those of us that need a little assistance, genius.

[00:33:24] TREY GERRALD: Well, Queens, we did it. That's another round on the R U A R Q Ferris Wheel of Devotion.

[00:33:31] CHELSEY DONN: Thank you for joining us today. If you like what you heard, we'll pray for you. But if you wouldn't mind telling a friend, well, we'd mighty appreciate it. Oh,

[00:33:43] TREY GERRALD: you heard, well, we'll pray for you, and we would mighty appreciate it if you would tell an enemy, aka Satan himself.

[00:33:52] CHELSEY DONN: my goodness.

[00:33:54] TREY GERRALD: on today's aftershow, Chelsey and I are gonna be doing a live review of the Shake Weight. We are gonna test it out, we're gonna go over, when I purchased this, it did say it came with a DVD, and I'm noticing neither you nor

[00:34:07] CHELSEY DONN: Huh!

[00:34:08] TREY GERRALD: have a DVD,

[00:34:09] CHELSEY DONN: DVD.

[00:34:10] TREY GERRALD: gonna go in hot.

[00:34:11] TREY GERRALD: Ciao. Ha! Ta!

[00:34:51] CHELSEY DONN: I feel dirty.

[00:34:53] TREY GERRALD: but as I'm please remember,

[00:34:58] CHELSEY DONN: Ignore the haters. I'm looking at you, Doris. You're a queen! Even you, Doris.

[00:35:05] TREY GERRALD: non specific, even you, Doris Queen. Bye!

[00:35:45] TREY GERRALD: I definitely think that's what, um, Reese Witherspoon did. I think she practiced with her. Shea Quiet.

[00:35:49] CHELSEY DONN: Right? I would imagine.

[00:35:51] TREY GERRALD: See you on Friday.
