[00:00:41] Chelsey Donn: reviews we're just like Siskel and Ebert only. Instead of reviewing cinematic masterpieces, we rate and review those hilarious, scathing, and sometimes suspicious online reviews,

[00:00:52] Trey Gerrald: that is Chelsey Donn.

[00:00:55] Chelsey Donn: and that is Trey Gerrald.

[00:00:57] Trey Gerrald: And together we are.

[00:00:59] VOICEOVER: The Review Queen.

[00:01:30] VOICEOVER: Hey sis, it's Christmas. You can cross me off A'. A' wishlist. Call Santa Claus 'I. A' misses. We gonna have the best Christmas ever existed.

[00:01:39] Trey Gerrald: don't forget, cuz our show is not one of those that thinks that there is only one holiday in the month of December. Oh, no booboo. It's also

[00:01:55] Chelsey Donn: Literally our only song.

[00:01:59] Trey Gerrald: Yay.

[00:02:03] Chelsey Donn: Hanukah. Merry

[00:02:04] Trey Gerrald: It's A'. Big time.

[00:02:06] Chelsey Donn: ho. That will come up later

[00:02:08] Trey Gerrald: You guys what? A'? Big week. We're celebrating. We are in the midst of all of.

[00:02:13] Chelsey Donn: in the midst of all of it. I'm experiencing A' little holiday cold. So 'I think my voice is like lower, maybe like A' half octave, but.

[00:02:23] Trey Gerrald: sound like Emma Stone

[00:02:24] Chelsey Donn: Ooh, I'll take

[00:02:25] Trey Gerrald: minus the lisp.

[00:02:26] Chelsey Donn: I'll take it. So, yeah.

[00:02:28] Trey Gerrald: I'm sorry you have A' cold 'I. Feel like that's going around over here too. Lots of sniffles, lots of Kleenex.

[00:02:34] Chelsey Donn: Yes,

[00:02:35] Trey Gerrald: Well, what's going on besides the cold girl?

[00:02:38] Chelsey Donn: You know, I've been busy. 'I was just working as an actor, which is always fun. So I'm just coming from A' long day on set and things are good. Family is around. It's good to see the niece and nephews and my parents and my sister and brother-in-law and. Louie 'I. Think I've included everyone.

'I have A'. Pretty small family. How have you been? Trey?

[00:02:57] Trey Gerrald: good. Life is good. You know, I'm currently wearing my very saucy Christmas shirt. Do you wanna describe it? Chelseybd?

[00:03:05] Chelsey Donn: Trey is, oh my, wait, hold on. Is this A' cu? Oh, it is. It custom.

[00:03:10] Trey Gerrald: What? No, it's like A' gay

[00:03:12] Chelsey Donn: kind of looks like, okay. Well, for A' second, 'I thought that it was like you and David when you were going through your blonde phase.

[00:03:17] Trey Gerrald: No.

[00:03:18] Chelsey Donn: Okay, sorry. So there's A', blonde Man sort of bent over, A' sexy Santa's knee, and the sexy Santa's about to slap the tush of the sexy blonde man.

And he, he's pulled down his pants to the point where his underwear, um, are exposed and his underwear, obviously Christmas themed. And then it says, has someone been naughty?

[00:03:44] Trey Gerrald: Ooh.

[00:03:44] Chelsey Donn: And then the whole background of it is like A' wallpaper of 'I. Don't know. Kind of like, how would you describe it?

Trey the backdrop.

[00:03:52] Trey Gerrald: Yeah, it's like, you know, those old timey sweaters like faded in the back where it looks like it could have been crocheted. It's like Christmas trees and 'I. Guess these are, it's green, but 'I. Guess these are probably snowflakes or, yeah,

[00:04:04] Chelsey Donn: 'I. Love it. Wow.

[00:04:06] Trey Gerrald: it's my saucy shirt. 'I always thought anxious, wearing it in public, so 'I figured I'll wear it on the podcast.

[00:04:12] Chelsey Donn: Well in honor of my people, 'I am wearing our Kvetch sweatshirt and it's blue and white.

[00:04:17] Trey Gerrald: Perfectly suited. I'm good. I'm happy the shirt is, you know, 'I can't wear this around my family cuz 'I have little nephews

[00:04:25] Chelsey Donn: forbid,

[00:04:26] Trey Gerrald: working up to the bitter point of Christmas. And then I'm flying with David to visit my family over the weekend, which is so lovely. And then I'll fly right back and I'll hop right back into work.

[00:04:41] Chelsey Donn: Yeah. Yeah. Best. Love it. Love that For us

[00:04:45] Trey Gerrald: Now let's, let's go into something A' little, um, more fraught, shall we?

[00:04:50] Chelsey Donn: 'I. Think so 'I. Think 'I. Have some things 'I need to let off my chest. Besides the congestion,

[00:04:55] Trey Gerrald: Let's let off the congestion and some spirited ranting. ChelseyBD, are you ready to,

[00:05:00] VOICEOVER: Lodge, A', Complaint.

[00:05:01] Chelsey Donn: 'I am Trey. So I've been spending some time at the mall like you do around the holidays, you know, because it just, first of all, there's just so much nostalgia associated with the mall. Are you

[00:05:14] Trey Gerrald: 'I. Think 'I lost my pen while 'I when

[00:05:16] Chelsey Donn: Oh, okay.

[00:05:17] Trey Gerrald: so 'I have to find my pen

[00:05:19] Chelsey Donn: Trey is looking very like lost. 'I was, 'I wanted to make sure that.

[00:05:22] Trey Gerrald: It's on the ground. That's why.

[00:05:24] Chelsey Donn: on the ground. We got it.

The, the pen mystery has been solved. Okay. Anyway, so the mall, the mall is very nostalgic. 'I like going there. 'I mean 'I still feel like even though we do all the online shopping, you just can't beat touching the merchandise, which is perhaps where 'I got this cold. But my Complaint is not with the malls.

Okay. And, and 'I again, you know, don't like to be the good old school mom and don't want to feel like an old crotchety lady, however, It's very cool that teenagers are still going to the mall alone. 'I think that's great. Like you need that experience where you're away and you can kind of do your own thing as A' teenager.

Why is it that we feel that we have to lock arms

[00:06:08] Trey Gerrald: Oh no.

[00:06:08] Chelsey Donn: ways across?

[00:06:10] Trey Gerrald: Oh my gosh.

[00:06:11] Chelsey Donn: And walk down the aisles of the mall so that 'I have to have like flashbacks of bad red, red rover experiences from elementary school to try and get around you to get to the Macy's. Okay? Now if you can latch arms in groups of two, three, maybe, and still leave room for passage, I'm fine with that.

But when we start to become A' block, This is A' problem. 'I was confronted with my own adulthood in that moment. Like, what do you say? You know, and 'I think 'I just kind of like got there and 'I probably, you know, was like ugh. And then they kind of dispersed and maybe like laughed like, ha, that old lady But that's what happened in my mind. But anyway, like is this annoying? Am 'I the only 1:00 AM 'I A' School mom here on my own on this Grinchy holiday Complaint.

[00:07:00] Trey Gerrald: 'I mean this Complaint has literally like splintered off into nine different conversations in my mind. But then when you said these kids were addressing you as old lady, theoretically, that is so funny to me. Well, first of all, it reminds me instantly of that. One scene in mean girls when they're all walking in A' row down the hallway and she falls into the trashcan.

[00:07:22] Chelsey Donn: 'I. Forgot about that.

[00:07:24] Trey Gerrald: but like of course, I'm sure we've discussed this, it's similar when you're walking around Manhattan and it's just like people are just like blocking the street. And then you use the word blockade, which made me think of ez, where you should just start singing. Do you hear the people sing? And they're not gonna know what you're talking about cuz you're in Los

[00:07:42] Chelsey Donn: would've been so good though. 'I should have done that.

[00:07:44] Trey Gerrald: 'I know we've discussed this because spacial awareness makes me so angry. It, it is like A' matchbook ignition for me, like zero to 100. The nons spatial

[00:07:56] Chelsey Donn: You were gasoline.

[00:07:57] Trey Gerrald: me, yes, the block A' is gasoline for me. and it's especially something in that teen years that like you just really, you're not A', you're not around your parent to tell you to be

[00:08:12] Chelsey Donn: And 'I get it. Like 'I get that feeling. That's why I'm like, 'I don't wanna be A' school mom. Cuz 'I know what it's like to have that independence and like be in your own world as like who, who are you? And you're developing your personality and it's fun to get lost in all of that, but also like it's Christmas and we have shopping to do and get out the way.

[00:08:30] Trey Gerrald: Well, especially when you're like in that teenage preteen era where you're finally like, not in the view of A' parental or A' teacher who's gonna like tell you what to do. So you have this first expression of freedom and you're just so consumed with just Jason. Like my hair. Did you see what Brian put on TikTok?

Oh my gosh. She looked at me. It's like they're not concerned with the old lady that needs to get into Mac.

[00:08:54] Chelsey Donn: exactly, exactly. Macy's, A'. Such an old lady store and 'I. Love it. 'I love shopping there.

[00:08:59] Trey Gerrald: 'I mean the only like decree that should come from this Complaint is be aware of the people around you. We all are sharing planet Earth. It doesn't

[00:09:09] Chelsey Donn: do you, do you like have the conversation with one of your girlfriends and latch arms about how Brian likes you, but just don't do it in like A' massage train across the mall. Okay.

[00:09:22] Trey Gerrald: 'I don't even want to say, do you? This isn't even A'. A' do you ba boo. This isn't, doesn't even qualify. It's like Sure do you up against the wall. You mother. I'm so mad.

[00:09:32] Chelsey Donn: Oh my God. 'I. Love you, Trey. All right, Trey, now that you're so mad, 'I just wanna give you the gift of being able to let something off your chest. So let's hear it. What are you gonna Lodge A' complain about this week?

[00:09:43] Trey Gerrald: Well, I'm gonna take this rage and I'm gonna copy and paste it because my Complaint is old Copy past. , have you ever gone and done liker V and then like an old copy paste that you did that you forgot about is, is remembered. My computer doesn't remember my passwords, but it sure does. Remember my old copy paste.

[00:10:04] Chelsey Donn: oh my God, yes.

[00:10:06] Trey Gerrald: It makes me so angry. Wh why do you remember something? And it happens between devices because now it's like copy pasting, retrieving from your iPad or whatever, which

[00:10:15] Chelsey Donn: Oh, wow. 'I didn't know that that was A' thing.

[00:10:18] Trey Gerrald: Oh, it's amazing. It'll do it like from your phone to your computer, all of that. But like 'I don't need to know. You know, 17 tops from Macy's, which 'I like copy pasted The last time 'I was sitting at this desk.

It makes

[00:10:30] Chelsey Donn: This episode is not sponsored by Macy's

[00:10:34] Trey Gerrald: We are not Macy's, even though it is Christmas,

[00:10:37] Chelsey Donn: even though it's Christmas. Yeah.

[00:10:39] Trey Gerrald: real talk. Have you ever encountered that?

[00:10:41] Chelsey Donn: Totally. And you know, this is such A', funny Complaint because it's something that 'I definitely experienced but would never have thought of. So kudos to you like good one. 'I also hate, you know, when you like copy something but for whatever reason it doesn't copy and that it's still paste the old thing that you like, didn't even remember that you copied, like that thing that you had like copied to send to A' friend or something like that.

[00:11:05] Trey Gerrald: Have you ever copy pasted but realized you just highlighted it, you didn't actually copy. That's always

[00:11:12] Chelsey Donn: like you click and then you click off and then you realize you have to re-highlight, oh,

[00:11:17] Trey Gerrald: And then it's like this miniature solo shame where you're like, oh my God, 'I, how did 'I

[00:11:22] Chelsey Donn: How did 'I forget?

[00:11:23] Trey Gerrald: control C?

[00:11:24] Chelsey Donn: Right? Or maybe you didn't forget. And the computer was just like, gotcha.

[00:11:28] Trey Gerrald: Gotcha. A'. Little stupid human. Uh, wait, do you,

[00:11:32] Chelsey Donn: think they're fighting back. Yeah.

[00:11:33] Trey Gerrald: real, real dividing question. Do you control C, control V or do you right click?

[00:11:40] Chelsey Donn: Oh, 'I. Control C, control V, all day, every day. 'I mean right clicking just feels like A'. Total waste of time.

[00:11:46] Trey Gerrald: Well, you know, 'I, Ooh, 'I. Just thought of A'. Really good Royal Highness. Well, you know, now that I'm sitting here like working from my desk, like 'I never 'I, never take my laptop anywhere because 'I have two external hard drives plugged in and one is exclusively the podcast. So 'I, it's just too much trouble to take it all down.

Because 'I have an actual desktop set up. 'I have an actual mouse and I'm, so I'm back to the right click. Yeah. It's really like A' lot quicker for A', lot of things.

[00:12:16] Chelsey Donn: oh, I'm sorry. I'm gonna say in my Control C. Control V

[00:12:20] Trey Gerrald: But 'I get that when you're on A' track pad on A' laptop,

[00:12:22] Chelsey Donn: Well, 'I have A' Mouse, but it's not like A' double click Mouse.

[00:12:26] Trey Gerrald: use A' Mouse and you don't. Oh, so

[00:12:28] Chelsey Donn: but it's A' Single Click Mouse. It's

[00:12:31] Trey Gerrald: But can't, isn't there some way to do it?

[00:12:34] Chelsey Donn: maybe, but like it 'I don't feel like I'm well-versed enough in it.

Like whereas the keyboard, it's just like A' boom, bam boom. Yeah.

[00:12:41] Trey Gerrald: 'I have an extra keyboard that's not attached to my laptop, obviously. And there is A' screenshot key. Yeah, like this. We're showing each other everyone. Do you have the new merit keypad on the right?

[00:12:55] Chelsey Donn: No 'I have the 'I. 'I do have all the apple stuff.

[00:12:58] Trey Gerrald: Okay, so this will really show up later in life. But 'I am so attached to everything being Apple, but A', lot of it's very expensive for no reason and miniature.

So 'I, this is 'I. Don't even know what brand this is, but it has the little, um, keypads on the right

[00:13:13] Chelsey Donn: numbers.

[00:13:14] Trey Gerrald: girl. Anytime 'I am doing spreadsheets or like taxes, it literally expedites tax work. So cra 'I can't even tell you. ChelseyBD. It is such A' game change.

[00:13:25] Chelsey Donn: it for that alone.

[00:13:26] Trey Gerrald: And then there's also the screenshot picture. So 'I just push it.

It is. It's such A'. Time saver. Anyway, we've become A'

[00:13:33] Chelsey Donn: wow. We've really diverged, uh, from the

[00:13:36] Trey Gerrald: Speak about being old people here. We are

[00:13:39] Chelsey Donn: Here we are, we're like, we can't even remember what we're doing anymore. All right. What are we doing, Trey? Why are we here today?

[00:13:45] Trey Gerrald: well, we are gonna celebrate the holidays and we are going to channel our holiday excitement by doing some online reviews.

[00:13:53] Chelsey Donn: Woo. We shall.

[00:13:58] VOICEOVER: Review, That, Review.

[00:14:01] Chelsey Donn: As you know, we are your trustee. Review Queen. We bring in reviews from the internet that we feel need to be inspected.

[00:14:08] Trey Gerrald: We read you A' review. We break it down and we rate the impact of the review on A' scale from zero to five crowns in our opinions. It's A' very regal process that ChelseyBD and 'I love to call.

[00:14:20] VOICEOVER: Assess, That, Kvetch.

[00:14:22] Chelsey Donn: We are the Review Queen. This is our opinion. . Trey, what do you have for us today? Let us know.

[00:14:28] Trey Gerrald: Well, alright, so 'I, want everyone to know, I'm actually gonna find this out right now. I'm going to, I'm gonna right click and I'm gonna get info and, okay. So literally on March 6th, 'I found this review and it has sat on my desktop from March 6th until today

[00:14:51] Chelsey Donn: Feel you girl. That's A' commitment.

[00:14:52] Trey Gerrald: It's Christmas themed, but I'll tell you what, 'I don't think it's entertaining enough for the main show, so I'm gonna save it for later.

So then 'I was like, okay, what just rings and screams Christmas? When 'I, think of December. 'I. Think of Christmas commercialism, which makes me think of. The radio city, Christmas Spectacular, featuring the Rockettes, which 'I featured on an after show last year, which was all about the ticketing process. So 'I was like, 'I really feel like 'I.

'I used up the Rockettes in A' way that didn't actually address the Rockettes. So 'I went to TripAdvisor. It's very challenging to. The radio city, Christmas spectacular featuring the Rockettes because what actually shows up on TripAdvisor is A' bunch of the combined experiences. So it's like Radio City, musical, Christmas spectacular, featuring the Rockettes and Applebee's.

It's like what? It's like these like. Packages that people purchase. So 'I found the Rockette experience, which is something you can add on. It's 'I actually have done it and you get to go like 40 minutes before the show and you get A' backstage tour.

[00:16:09] Chelsey Donn: Oh wow.

[00:16:10] Trey Gerrald: It's very cool. In the midst of reading the reviews, none of them were about that backstage tour ChelseyBD.

[00:16:17] Chelsey Donn: Okay.

[00:16:18] Trey Gerrald: So people do not know

[00:16:19] Chelsey Donn: is like A' landing page.

[00:16:21] Trey Gerrald: Yes, people don't underst.

[00:16:22] Chelsey Donn: Which is kind of A' problem within itself that they should address, but that's another business advice for another day.

[00:16:30] Trey Gerrald: or maybe it's on purpose.

[00:16:32] Chelsey Donn: maybe, oh.

[00:16:34] Trey Gerrald: 'I am gonna be sharing A' four.review from TripAdvisor on the Rockette experience written by. Okay, this is A'. This is A' challenge. So 'I can see that they're from Charlotte, North Carolina.

[00:16:52] Chelsey Donn: Oh, okay.

[00:16:53] Trey Gerrald: it's NC Hokey Gal oh one,

[00:16:59] Chelsey Donn: Ooh.

[00:16:59] Trey Gerrald: which like, it looks like it's saying Choki Gal,

[00:17:02] Chelsey Donn: Oh, but you think it's like North Carolina. Hokey girl.

[00:17:06] Trey Gerrald: What is A'? Hokey.

[00:17:08] Chelsey Donn: Hokey. Isn't hokey like crazy?

[00:17:11] Trey Gerrald: Like, oh, you're so

[00:17:12] Chelsey Donn: You're so hokey. Oh yeah. Or you do the hokey, hokey and you turn

[00:17:16] Trey Gerrald: Oh, the hokey Pokey

[00:17:18] Chelsey Donn: But 'I think hokey means like, like crazy,

[00:17:21] Trey Gerrald: like, yeah. It's like, oh, he was so hokey.

[00:17:23] Chelsey Donn: 'I think should 'I look this up,

[00:17:25] Trey Gerrald: What is hokey? Hokey? It was A'. Little

[00:17:29] Chelsey Donn: Hokey is A' Goodhearted, slightly hokey song.

How could you use hokey in the

[00:17:33] Trey Gerrald: How do you use it in the,

[00:17:34] Chelsey Donn: That is

[00:17:35] Trey Gerrald: never done A' spelling bee

[00:17:36] Chelsey Donn: A', hokey country Western accent. Okay, that's not defining you. You're

[00:17:42] Trey Gerrald: It's A'. Little hokey 'I feel like comedy sometimes is described as hokey.

[00:17:46] Chelsey Donn: Oh, obviously contrived. Corny. Yeah. Corny, phony, 'I. Think.

[00:17:56] Trey Gerrald: Okay, so

[00:17:57] Chelsey Donn: We got their corn ball. That's A' synonym.

[00:18:00] Trey Gerrald: cornball.

[00:18:01] Chelsey Donn: such A' corn ball. You hokey corn ball. 'I.

Don't know

[00:18:05] Trey Gerrald: So then this is written by North Carolina Hokey Gal oh one.

[00:18:10] Chelsey Donn: Okay. Wow, that's A' mouthful. 'I. Just wanna quickly interject that. This is really funny that we're talking about this because as one of my niece, Sherry's. Uh, Hanukkah presents my mom bought her, the American girl Throwback to another episode, Rockette Experience

[00:18:30] Trey Gerrald: Whoa.

[00:18:32] Chelsey Donn: dinner at American Girl and then like A' Rockette show, and may or may not, I'll have to ask her, include this like rock head experience where they get to go early and see the whole thing.

[00:18:44] Trey Gerrald: Yeah, you get to do A' A' step and repeat with A' Real

[00:18:47] Chelsey Donn: Yes. Yes. And your American girl doll in this example

[00:18:51] Trey Gerrald: And you get to see the room that

[00:18:53] Chelsey Donn: where it happens,

[00:18:55] Trey Gerrald: there's like A' private apartment that whoever built Radio City like built for themselves.

[00:19:01] Chelsey Donn: Oh, that's cool.

[00:19:02] Trey Gerrald: and like it's really cool. Anywho. All right, so here we go. North Carolina Hokey Gal oh one s four. Review of the Rocket Experience.

[00:19:12] Chelsey Donn: Okay.

[00:19:12] Trey Gerrald: The subject is wonderful show disappointing services slash souvenirs.

[00:19:20] Chelsey Donn: Hmm. Okay.

[00:19:21] Trey Gerrald: was written December, 2018. This show was A' Dream of. 'I had always wanted to go see the Rockettes. The show was great. 'I read A'. Lot of reviews saying the line to get in was terrible and lots of people missed the start of the show. 'I found the line to be the opposite. We arrived an hour early as the email stated, we were inside with time to use the restroom, get refreshments, and look at the souvenirs.

That's when the less than great part of the night. The line to get refreshments was awful. The lady and the gentleman both seemed disoriented and not prepared to be working. The refreshment stands we were in the short.

[00:20:13] Chelsey Donn: Sorry that hits. That. Hits close. Okay.

[00:20:20] Trey Gerrald: We were in the shortest line and still stood in line for over 10 minutes. To get two waters and two Sprites,

[00:20:30] Chelsey Donn: 'I.

[00:20:30] Trey Gerrald: Sprite is capitalized. We then ventured to the souvenir stand, how? Lackluster only way to describe the selection. 'I was prepared to spend A' fair amount of money. 'I didn't buy one thing. 'I don't want.

A'. T-shirt, 'I don't need A'. Key chain.

[00:20:55] Chelsey Donn: God.

[00:20:56] Trey Gerrald: There was no advertisement that programs were available for purchase. 'I would've liked to have bought one, but 'I was never told that that was an option. 'I wanted the snow globe, but not for the $75 price tag. 'I ended up purchasing two ornaments from one of the Christmas stores in town,

[00:21:20] Chelsey Donn: 'i.

[00:21:20] Trey Gerrald: to one day return to see the show. Let's just hope they have improved on the services and souvenir selection.

[00:21:31] Chelsey Donn: Oh my God.

[00:21:33] VOICEOVER: Oh my God, it's A'.

[00:21:34] Chelsey Donn: You know how close the home, this review hits for me and you?

[00:21:38] Trey Gerrald: A'. Yeah, so full

[00:21:40] Chelsey Donn: got it. We got A'. Yeah. ChelseyBD

[00:21:42] Trey Gerrald: and 'I, not at the same time, nor at the same theater, but before we knew each other, we were both

[00:21:49] Chelsey Donn: when we first graduated from college.

[00:21:52] Trey Gerrald: We both worked for the same exact company that staffed bars and coat check services at Broadway Theaters,

[00:22:02] Chelsey Donn: So we were the people that were giving out the concession, the, the concessions. We won't say the name of the company, but it involves the word. Yeah, so 'I feel, it's hard for me to not think that this is A' Karen, because 'I worked at Mary Poppins and 'I 'I think I've spoken about it on the podcast, but 'I have this recurring nightmare. where I'm doing pre-filled drinks for the show and right before the audience comes out and they're about to like bum rush me, I'm like the only person behind the bar, which happens on some of the levels. 'I basically domino down an entire row of Diet Coke, and then that Diet Coke spilled all over my money. So now In addition to being like completely drained and wet, the money that 'I have to give to the customers exchange is doused in Diet Coke, sticky terribleness, and there was like an old custodian that worked. At the theater and he was just like mopping behind me as 'I was trying to make it through A' barrage of people and deal with this wet money.

Like this is something that both happened to me in real life. And is now A' recurrent? Yes, that is A' real

[00:23:31] Trey Gerrald: 'I was like, this is so specific of A'

[00:23:33] Chelsey Donn: No, no. That's A' real story of something that happened to me and now it's like A' nightmare of mine. And the whole irony of it is that the pre pores for intermission happen during the song Supercalifragilistic Xbi A' dos, which starts out super CFRs.

Stick so gentle. And then the end when you're trying to put the like lids on everything, cuz everything has to have A' fucking lid and A' straw on it. It's like super. And it's, and then as soon as that ends, you know, the rush is coming. So it's nightmarish. It is so hard being A' bartender. At these places like 'I, don't know if it's this way at Rock Hats 'I, I'm sure it is.

Everything has to come in like A' souvenir cup. Do you remember that?

[00:24:23] Trey Gerrald: Yeah.

[00:24:24] Chelsey Donn: So like even if you 'I mean for us at least, it was like even if you ordered A' wine, we had to put it in this freaking souvenir cup with like A' straw or whatever it was. So like everything takes time. Like even if you're just coming to buy Sprite.

And then also everything is so expensive, like not my fault, 'I work there. So, Every single person that you interact with beyond like being like, 'I want two Sprites and 'I, want two, whatever. You're like, it's, you know, $30 and they're like, $30 for two waters, it's 30. And you're like, yes, ma'am. It's $15 A' water.

Or you can like go down the block 'I don't know what to tell you. Like do you want it or do you not want it? You know? And like that slows things down. So 'I, just 'I have to leave room for the carum of all of this review to be that like, yeah bitch, the line is long for like the concessions because everyone wants to get stuff.

There's like one or two people that are working back there scrambling and it's A' lot.

[00:25:21] Trey Gerrald: You know, this is the anxiety that that 'I think encapsulates it. So anyone that is just hearing and doesn't have the experience, so you just have to imagine, first of all, if you've ever been to like A' Sporting Event or A' Broadway show or any of that, you know how crazy the lines are for the bathrooms.

So it's the same exact experience. To, to get A'

[00:25:43] Chelsey Donn: Going in

[00:25:44] Trey Gerrald: but this is, but with your imagining, also consider this, why it's so high stress is that everyone is rushing out at the exact same moment and everyone is rushing

[00:26:00] Chelsey Donn: on both sides, like right before it's gonna start and intermission.

[00:26:04] Trey Gerrald: And everyone has the exact same deadline, so everyone has this 15 minutes to get their business done or the half hour before it starts.

So it's, it's such A' compressed cacophony of anxiety, stress. It's, it's such A' specific anxiety. It

[00:26:23] Chelsey Donn: Yeah, and if like someone happens to roll out in the middle of the show cuz they need A' little drink cuz they can't get through the show without it, then it is lovely. We can have A' whole talk at the bar cuz nobody's there in the middle of the show. But at these times, uh,

[00:26:37] Trey Gerrald: Well, 'I, remember when we went to see Cheer Live that was at like the p and C Art Center, which is like A' huge venue, and it was like 40 different concession checkout counters, and they were like the longest lines I've ever experienced in my life. But it's like, Eh, that's like the gig, like, you know, you're gonna have to wait

[00:26:58] Chelsey Donn: just, it's part of the gig. And also like, so we've obviously, we've just spent A', lot of real estate sort of roasting North Carolina, what the heck is her name? Can we just call her north? Can we just call her North Carolina? Okay. I'm sorry. Is that fine? North Carolina, we haven't even begun to get into the souvenir chapter, so like 'I, just wanna open that up.

Trey, I'll let you start

[00:27:23] Trey Gerrald: Well, okay, well 'I so, so 'I do feel like 'I can see both sides of this coin, which is why it's interesting to me. But like North Carolina begins with the fact that this experience has been so much A' dream of theirs forever to see the show. But it is also A' brand. And so it's the same as like when you go see Madonna in concert, like you are gonna want A' souvenir to like latch onto this once in A' lifetime memory.

But like, it's just so funny to me that like you want A' souvenir, but you're like, 'I don't want A' T-shirt.

[00:27:57] Chelsey Donn: 'I mean. That was crazy to me. Like, okay, pull of the audience 'I. Maybe we'll remember to put this on Instagram before this airs. Don't hold us to it, but pull of the audience. Okay. If you saw A' T-shirt in A' Souvenir Shop, would any part of your brain be surprised? Yes. Or.

[00:28:19] Trey Gerrald: 'I. Don't understand.

[00:28:20] Chelsey Donn: is that, your honor?

How is that A' piece of evidence? Like that is just so crazy to say. 'I visited the souvenir shop and 'I was mad that there was A' t-shirt there. 'I would be mad if there wasn't A' t-shirt there. Like how could there not be? A' T-shirt

[00:28:36] Trey Gerrald: 'I know it's the most obvious merchandise, but I'm wondering

[00:28:39] Chelsey Donn: crazy.

[00:28:40] Trey Gerrald: what did North Carolina want?

[00:28:42] Chelsey Donn: She wanted the snow globe. She didn't wanna spend $75 for it.

[00:28:46] Trey Gerrald: 'I know, but what was she like?

[00:28:47] Chelsey Donn: Second poll of the audience. How much would you expect A' A' Rockette Snow Globe sold at the merchandise counter at the Rockettes. To be

[00:28:58] Trey Gerrald: Well that's A'. Good question because going back to Cheer, which was months ago, 'I don't know why 'I keep going into this, but like the T-shirts were $50 and 'I could not believe it. And David was like, well, how did you think they were gonna be cheaper? I'm like, $50 for A' T-shirt. So to me, A' Snow Globe

[00:29:14] Chelsey Donn: 'I was like $75. That's like 'I. 'I thought A'. Hundred 'I Mean 'I. Don't know. It didn't seem like, she didn't say it was A'. Tiny snow globe. So A' hundred bucks. Like 'I don't know. Like those things are expensive. So to me it's just kind of odd because it seems like the merchandise, they did actually have something that North Carolina wanted.

North Carolina saw the snow globe and was like, 'I want you boo. And then didn't wanna pay the the ticket price.

[00:29:42] Trey Gerrald: You know? Okay, hold on. I'm going back to the services again. Because the subject is disappointing service slash souvenirs. But like, and they also reference how they've seen, and this does like proliferate. All of these reviews

[00:29:57] Chelsey Donn: Right.

[00:29:57] Trey Gerrald: like people missing the beginning of the show because they're in line, they're two city blocks away and it's not moving.

And it's like so many people talk about that. So why would your brain not then go to the fact that like, oh, it's probably gonna take me A' long time to get concessions. Like if the line to get in is that bad, don't you imagine? It's A'. You're gonna be waiting.

[00:30:18] Chelsey Donn: It sounds like what happened was they got there an hour early, like the email said, which 'I? Actually, when they said that 'I starred that, well, 'I starred the hour thing multiple times. Cause 'I was like, this is actually really good information because maybe A'. Somebody's gonna sign up, they're gonna get the email, they're not gonna read it.

'I thought it was sort of queenly that North Carolina mentioned this one hour like thing that they have in the email. 'I was like, okay, good for you. Like they said, come an hour early, you came an hour early and there wasn't A' line that says something. Maybe for like the masses of people thing. but 'I think the, the like anxiety or whatever you wanna call it came because they got there an hour early, got in easy breezy, and then saw that there was A' long line for concessions.

But the reality is who are the people in line for concessions? The other people that read the email boo,

[00:31:04] Trey Gerrald: Right

[00:31:05] Chelsey Donn: like that's it.

[00:31:08] Trey Gerrald: 'I mean 'I actually went to see the Rockettes. Probab 'I. 'I. It was probab. You know what? It probably was 2019, so it was probably the following year. and 'I did the pre-show thing. So like 'I, 'I got in, you know, but. The reason that the lines are so crazy is because they literally do four or five shows. A' Day and Radio City was built so long ago that there's only two entrances and they can't use the side exit entrances because that goes right into the seats.

So like you can't funnel cuz it's such A', humongous venue that it's just these two side entrances to fill up that massive venue. So, . It's just A' problem, like no matter what the show is. So there's part of me that feels like anything you go to at Radio City is gonna have this issue. So 'I, I'm just feeling A'.

Little split here because it's four stars, which 'I think is, is generous. But like, can you really take

[00:32:10] Chelsey Donn: A'

[00:32:10] Trey Gerrald: cuz they, everything they say Wonderful show. The show was great. 'I would love to see the show again. One day. It's like you're taking A' whole star off because you. In line for concessions. And you were disappointed with the souvenirs.

Like, are you going to the show for the souvenirs? Are you going for the show that you said was wonderful and great?

[00:32:29] Chelsey Donn: 'I Dunno. 'I. Think I'm sort of slid on it cuz 'I 'I feel like the messaging feels A' little bit skewed to me for A' four star review or A' four.review. You know like it's okay that you're like, my experience going to Rockettes was less than A' five star experience. It was four 'I. Love to give it five stars because the show is phenomenal.

'I have to take one star, one dot away. Because 'I had A' kind of bad experience, just like getting through the lobby, trying to get A' drink, trying to get souvenirs. But other than that, the thing was great and that's why I'm giving it four dots, four crowns, 'I. Think if the review had been delivered that way, we wouldn't be feeling this like defensive about the four outta five.

But 'I just think it's weird because it's so negative. Like so much of the review is so negative. It's almost surprising that it's A' four daughter review because it's so complaining that it feels like it would be A' one or A'. DOT review. So the fact that it's still for dot, even though North Carolina has spent so much real estate in this review, kind of slamming this experience is confusing.

A', little bit 'I think,

[00:33:35] Trey Gerrald: 'I agree with you. Yeah, because you're right cuz the whole experience is like it is the radio city Rockettes. So like, but yeah.

[00:33:42] Chelsey Donn: Because like 'I feel like 'I love the Hollywood Bowl, but getting in and out of there is like A' nightmare. So like you should know that before going there. You know what, 'I.

[00:33:51] Trey Gerrald: Right. And 'I wanna highlight that even though this is seeping in negativity, they do sort of say like, 'I was prepared to spend A', lot of money.

[00:34:00] Chelsey Donn: right? Which 'I, don't know if 'I like that almost felt like more of A'. Oh my God is A' Karen. You know what 'I mean?

[00:34:07] Trey Gerrald: yeah, 'I,

[00:34:08] Chelsey Donn: 'I just kind of hate that. Like 'I had A'. Lot of money to spend here. Like if you had so much money to spend, then you would've bought the $75 Snow Globe. Am 'I being like ignorant.

[00:34:18] Trey Gerrald: You know what it is, 'I, it's occurring to me. So 'I, I'll say it's occurring to me that there's A' lot of, um, entitlement in the way that North Carolina is ex is explaining the experience. They felt like they shouldn't have to wait in A' long line. They were in the shortest line, but it still took the longest.

The lady and the gentleman didn't know like how to be doing it and then like the souvenirs were below par for me and like it just is sort of like,

[00:34:48] Chelsey Donn: Yeah. It's like if you don't like it, like if you, if you got on the line and you were like, this is too long A' Lion to eat, then it's like, well then don't get A' drink or you're there an hour early, pop out and go to A' store and like go grab some waters. 'I don't know.

[00:35:02] Trey Gerrald: yeah, but 'I feel like once you're in, you're not gonna leave Radio City realistically cuz you

[00:35:05] Chelsey Donn: Right. So it's like, if it's not worth it, if it, you'd rather be dehydrated.

[00:35:09] Trey Gerrald: All right. Or go to the water fountain.

[00:35:11] Chelsey Donn: or go to the water fountain. Well, that's probably beneath 'I. Don't know. I'm getting defensive. 'I.

[00:35:17] Trey Gerrald: 'I feel defensive too though. But not even for my, not even for the concession workers. Just sort of like, it's just sort of like what? Like the whole 'I don't know. So valuable, new, unique information. 'I mean it is, um, unique here. Yes. Cuz most of the reviews are about, first of all, this is supposed to be about the.

Behind the scenes tour, which it's not, but all of the radio city Christmas spectacular reviews are about like how crowded the line is.

[00:35:46] Chelsey Donn: We're not gonna dig North Carolina for this not being about the experience because there's really nowhere to land. Right.

[00:35:52] Trey Gerrald: Fair, but like, but it is unique because it's not about the crazy line and you miss the start of the show. It's actually like now about how crazy the concession line is.

[00:36:02] Chelsey Donn: Yeah. Which 'I think is again fair. Like if you're coming in from North Carolina and you know, shade being thrown. But if you're coming in from somewhere else and you don't know Broadway or you don't know what this experience is gonna be like 'I think there's unique information. Like listen you, you've been hearing about the long line you're gonna wait in to get in while there's also gonna be A' long line for concessions.

And there's also gonna be A', limited amount of souvenirs, and they're gonna be around this price point, you know?

[00:36:29] Trey Gerrald: Spelling grammar is pretty good. 'I, are they being truthful? Shady? 'I think they're truthful. Yeah, but 'I think it probably did take A' long time. And 'I. Maybe they don't have the largest variety of souvenirs. 'I don't

[00:36:40] Chelsey Donn: threw A' little shade at those two concession workers. Okay.

[00:36:45] Trey Gerrald: Yeah,

[00:36:46] Chelsey Donn: There was A' little shade in there.

[00:36:48] Trey Gerrald: 'I mean. 'I. Think that it's shady, but 'I think it's truthful to North Carolina.

[00:36:52] Chelsey Donn: Agree.

[00:36:53] Trey Gerrald: Common experience, 'I. Don't know. Uh,

[00:36:57] Chelsey Donn: 'I. Well, 'I don't know. In the in between on that one,

[00:37:01] Trey Gerrald: Humor. 'I was, 'I was

[00:37:03] Chelsey Donn: was laughing A' lot but 'I don't know if it's because 'I connected so much with the material,

[00:37:08] Trey Gerrald: But like, okay, let's say you read this. It's A' four.review. Is this gonna impact whether or not you're gonna go see the show?

[00:37:17] Chelsey Donn: 'I mean it's A' four.so 'I think again, it's just confusing the way that it's so complaining because 'I don't think that it would not convince me to go. I'm using A' Double negative, but like 'I don't think that if 'I read this review, 'I would not go to the show because of it. But 'I also don't think that North Carolina's review is trying to dismiss people of going to the show because even in the end they're like 'I would go again, right?

To see the show,

[00:37:45] Trey Gerrald: 'I. Mean 'I. Just wanna say here, North Carolina obviously lives in North Carolina. So like wouldn't you 'I understand wanting to buy swag or merch at the actual event, but like, wouldn't you rather just buy the snow globe on Amazon or something and have it shipped to you rather than taking up luggage in your bag or having to do it in the overhead on

[00:38:06] Chelsey Donn: 'I. Mean 'I. Just think the point of that is the reason why it's $75 or the reason why these things are extensive are because they're the authentic merch. So it's like either you care about that or you don't.

[00:38:15] Trey Gerrald: But 'I guarantee you your ass. If you go to A' rockets.com or whatever the fuck, you're gonna be able to buy some fucking merchandise there. That's A'. Authentic.

[00:38:23] Chelsey Donn: right. Good point, Trey. Good

[00:38:26] Trey Gerrald: are coming out. All right, let's, let's Crown.

[00:38:29] Chelsey Donn: 'I. Feel ready

[00:38:30] Trey Gerrald: Yeah. Oh, why 'I? Oh, heated. All right. So ChelseyBD and 'I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards.

In an effort to be fair and not influenced by one another, we will simultaneously reveal our writings.

[00:38:43] VOICEOVER: The Queens are Tabulating to school.

[00:38:52] Chelsey Donn: Okay, I'm holding up two and A' half crowns. Trey's holding up three and A' half crowns. 'I went with my middle of the road. 'I think that at the end of the day, this doesn't negatively impact the Rockettes, and it's like still technically A' four point review. So 'I don't think there was A'. Lot of damage done.

That being said, 'I feel like it was A', little unbalanced at how much they were blaming the concessions. Uh, and the souvenirs, like the t-shirt thing was very strange. There was A', lot of stuff that felt very specific to North Carolina and not general to me. So for that reason, 'I went with two and A' half crowns.

What about you, Trey? Why three and A' half? Was it because of the North Carolina of it all?

[00:39:31] Trey Gerrald: Yeah. You know, 'I, 'I just felt like 'I. 'I went with three and A' half cuz it's strictly right there in the middle. And 'I, 'I 'I don't, it's just so perplexing that. When you think of the radio city Christmas spectacular. I'm thinking about the show. I'm not thinking about the concessions. So it's just so interesting.

But they made it A' force for dot because the show like 'I don't know. I'm also someone that doesn't 'I, don't 'I don't want to pay A' lot of money at concessions. So 'I don't go to concession stands. Like, I'm not trying to like clink around my ice while I'm watching A' show and have people look at me.

Cause again, I'm aware of spacial awareness, so,

[00:40:10] Chelsey Donn: Back to that.

[00:40:12] Trey Gerrald: 'I just A' three and A' half because 'I think it's A'. Little like unnecessary and not helpful, but like 'I understand that it's speaking to people that aren't my things. So I'm sort of like, sure, like I'm sure this is valuable to some people. 'I recognize, wanting to have like A'.

You know, A' Radio City Rocket, Christmas Tree Ornament or something maybe. So 'I think it's probably very valuable to whoever runs the merchandising for the Rockets. But as far as like if I'm going to see the show, maybe it is helpful to know that like 'I need 'I. There's 'I, there's gonna be A' line on the inside as well.

So get there as early as possible and be patient is the takeaway.

[00:40:54] Chelsey Donn: Love that. Really like this review by North Carolina. Good choice. Trey.

[00:40:59] Trey Gerrald: Oh, thank you.

[00:41:00] Chelsey Donn: 'I. Wanna say that the theme of this episode appears to be spatial awareness,

[00:41:05] Trey Gerrald: Well, you know, Santa can't fit down that chimney if he doesn't. Assess the spatial awareness of that tight chimney

[00:41:12] Chelsey Donn: or, yeah. Do some sort of magic to make it. You know, bigger for the moment or whatever it is. 'I don't know. 'I think that's what happened in Santa Claus. Like the movie, like if they didn't have A' Fireplace one would appear.

[00:41:25] Trey Gerrald: Oh yeah. There used to be A' story when 'I was growing up that you could, he would touch the side of his nose and it would just

[00:41:29] Chelsey Donn: Yes, that's, yeah, that's what he does. He touches the side of his nose and A' and A'. Chimney appears,

[00:41:35] Trey Gerrald: Well, all right, Queens, that's it. We have reached the most regal portion of our show,

[00:41:40] Chelsey Donn: yes.

[00:41:42] Trey Gerrald: Woohoo. Are you inducting today for.

[00:41:48] VOICEOVER: My Royal.

[00:41:49] Chelsey Donn: Okay. Che, Woohoohoo and A'. Ho, ho, ho to you. 'I want to induct today and 'I think we might have done it before, but 'I don't care because we need to do it every year. Then 'I wanna induct all the postal workers. 'I wanna include within that ups, FedEx, Amazon delivery. Everyone who is just working their tushies off to get all the presents to be the Santa that we all need.

[00:42:14] Trey Gerrald: Mmm.

[00:42:16] Chelsey Donn: To make so many households have wonderful holidays enable me to be able to send gifts to my niece and nephews across the country and so many people to do the same. We really like would not be able to function in so many ways without them and 'I think we don't acknowledge these people enough throughout the year.

So 'I think this is A' really good time to acknowledge them. Maybe put A', little bit of A' tip in your mailbox for your regular. Male person and just think about them during this holiday season. 'I think there's so many times when we get so upset because A' package wasn't delivered or something gets wrong in transit.

But the reality is the postal offices are so overworked during this time, so now more than ever, but especially all year round, 'I want to induct all the workers, all the delivery people as our 'I think 'I can say Royal Highness.

[00:43:09] Trey Gerrald: No 'I. Totally agree. You know, this is so funny because you know, A', couple of episodes back, 'I was talking about getting my new iPhone and 'I. In order to get that A' thousand dollars rebate, 'I had to put it in A' box and like send it off. 'I had to go to A' post office and the person was like, 'I was like, Hey, 'I have to do that.

'I don't know, can 'I wait? And she was like, oh, it's like it's paid for already. And 'I was like, oh my gosh, thank you. And like, you know, she probably was like, what an idiot. But 'I was like, thank God you like, knew that. But it did make me stop to be like, oh, because 'I have this cultural agreement that when 'I walk into A' post office, they're gonna be miserable, they're gonna be angry.

I'm gonna wait A'. Really long time. There's such A' story attached to what it means to be A' postal worker. And so, yeah, let's stop that. Let's spin it around and think, you know, if it weren't for them, We would have to go back to the Pony Express. I've never met A' Pony in my life.

[00:43:56] Chelsey Donn: I'm never, yeah. 'I don't like to ride horses and 'I don't want to do it.

[00:43:59] Trey Gerrald: No.

[00:44:00] Chelsey Donn: 'I mean. 'I. Just wanna show gratitude.

[00:44:03] Trey Gerrald: And not to beat A' dead not to beat

[00:44:05] Chelsey Donn: Oh, A'

[00:44:06] Trey Gerrald: not to beat A' dead Pony, but the world today really revolves around deliveries.

[00:44:13] Chelsey Donn: The world today really does. Sorry. 'I just had A'. 'I just had A' brain moment with A' dog and A' pony show. 'I thought we talked about it, but 'I think 'I spoke about that with somebody else.

[00:44:21] Trey Gerrald: What's A'? A' dog and pony show. Isn't that when you like enough with A' dog and

[00:44:24] Chelsey Donn: Enough with the dog and pony show. Yeah, enough with the dog and pony show, but gratitude to all the male workers. And this was A'. Super fun episode. 'I really love this review, Trey. Good job. I'm gonna have to give my mom some tips when she goes to the Rockettes with my niece

[00:44:41] Trey Gerrald: A'?

[00:44:42] Chelsey Donn: 'I can thank North Carolina for that.

[00:44:44] Trey Gerrald: Well, 'I may know one of the Mrs. Clauses in the

[00:44:48] Chelsey Donn: Oh wow. Oh, 'I have A' Mrs. Claus story for the after show.

[00:44:53] Trey Gerrald: All right, well let's get there. So we did A' Queen. That is another round on the r u A' rq Ferris wheel of,

[00:45:01] VOICEOVER: Hey sis, it's Christmas. You can cross me off of your wishlist. Call Santa Claus 'I. A' misses. We gonna have the.

[00:45:11] Chelsey Donn: 'I. Love that. No, but it's great. 'I. Love it so much. Who is it?

[00:45:15] Trey Gerrald: Any guesses?

[00:45:17] Chelsey Donn: 'I have no idea. Is it? Little bow wow or something.

[00:45:21] Trey Gerrald: That's really funny. Wait, but 'I don't. 'I don't want to exclude. Ha. He really emphasizes that

[00:45:37] Chelsey Donn: Hot A' 'I. Really want A' jelly donut now. Ugh, 'I want A' jelly donut?
